I looked forward to each session because it felt like a time of relief and release…. I had come with chronic back pain and vertebral discomfort, and left feeling as if my body were floating, light and comfortable. From my cranium to my sacrum, my core has never felt this held and nurtured.
At the time I came in for my first full Craniosacral Therapy session I was experiencing heavy feelings of grief due to a loss of a friend. My nervous system was immediately settled. Afterwards, I felt at peace. I recommend this work to anyone looking for clarity and unconditional support.

Learn More About Scott Engler

About me

I have over 3000 hours of training which has included certification in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, Castellino Prenatal & Birth Therapy, and Lomi Somatic Education and Bodywork. I began studying the power of presence and the nature of healing in 1992. I first offered sessions in somatic work in 1995 while living at Esalen Institute where I also taught in the Movement Arts program. I have studied Aikido since 1992 under Sensei Richard Strozzi-Heckler and hold the rank of Sandan (3rd-degree black belt) at Two Rock Dojo. I live in Petaluma with my wife, Zuza. You can learn more about my background at my website.

My Philosophy of Care

I was first inspired by the presence of my teachers Robert K Hall and Richard Strozzi-Heckler, founders of the Lomi School in the early '70s. Through them I learned about the potential available for healing through somatic awareness and touch.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

I don't know what or how, but something happened and I definitely feel better, more calm and clear, with some relief to my pain. I look forward to returning.

My Inspiration

This work is kind of like "applied meditation". While I sit with my hands in different places on a client, I do a quiet internal practice that allows me to sense where contact is needed, and my client gets the benefit of my practice. There's something subtle and indescribable, always balancing and supportive, that takes place deep in the body through this contact.
