The Healing Place
The Healing Place... transforming lives from the inside out!
I am a chiropractor, and while I love what I do it’s physically demanding. After years of adjusting patients, I was struggling to keep up and had begun to dread seeing patients. I came to the realization that, in assisting my patients with their health issues, I had neglected my own. The true turning point came when I felt my health spiraling out of control. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, my hormones were out of whack, and I gained 50 lbs. during menopause overnight, or at least that's how it felt. I was tired all the time, I developed eczema along my forearms that was unrelenting and spreading, and my hair was falling out by handfuls. I felt like a hamster on a wheel… too exhausted to exercise, too tired to plan healthy meals, much less execute the making of them, so I just did the same routine every day, which included unhealthy eating habits and pretty much no exercise other than what I had done at work, adjusting patients. I was struggling and literally just going through the motions to make it through another day. I then stumbled upon Nutrition Response Testing® and my life was forever changed! This amazing program has allowed me to experience a vast improvement in my own health, as well as optimizing the health of my patients. I’ve learned that obedience and consistency are the keys to success with this program and although I am nowhere near MY optimal health, I’m getting closer every day thanks to consistent chiropractic care and NRT.
I believe in the philosophy that your body knows how to heal itself, it just needs some assistance such as, removing interference from the nervous system and supplying your body with essential nutrients, to be more efficient at doing so!
Whether you're coming in for a chiropractic evaluation or a nutritional assessment, your first visit will entail a detailed history followed by a thorough examination or assessment, that takes about 2 hours. You will then be scheduled to return for a report of findings.
My inspiration came from a couple of people. Growing up, I spent many afternoons after school in my dad's medical office watching him address his patient's needs with his genuinely caring, bedside manner. My other inspiration was a dear family friend named Ms. Dickey. She was a devout Christian woman who had callouses on her knees from her time spent in worship. She prophesied years ago that I would be a healer! They instilled in me the desire to help others and I hope I've made them proud.
