I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and certified psychotherapist. I received my Master’s in Social Work from NYU and completed a post-graduate certification in psychotherapy specializing in children and adolescents. I have been working in an outpatient mental health clinic since 2007 and have dealt with a range of issues from bipolar to depression and anxiety in a variety of ages. Although I was classically trained in psychotherapy, I take an eclectic approach to meet the needs of my clients.
In 2013, I was trained in a specialized hypnotherapy technique called Quantum Healing Hypnotherapy Technique (QHHT), developed by Dolores Cannon, and have been conducting private sessions since. This is a technique that I can incorporate into the ongoing treatment with my clients while working with them in private practice.
On a more personal note, I became very interested in health and wellness while on my own journey to becoming fit and healthy. Through the power of intention, my yoga practice, and clean eating, I was able to drop 30 lbs and get to my optimal health. Through my passion for nutrition, health and wellness, I have been embracing the path of healer, avid researcher, and constant learner. I am honored to share my knowledge with others since my transformation has been so empowering and enlightening, and many people ask me how I have accomplished this goal. I believe in the mind-body-spirit connection for ultimate living.
I have been on my own wellness journey since 2012, and I saw how beneficial it is to implement self-care. We live in a fast-paced society, where we think it's all about work, work, work, and it is so easy to neglect ourselves. Although I went into the profession to help others, I realized how important it is to take care of myself first, so that I can then help my clients to help themselves.
While on this self-care journey, I wanted to be able to give my clients tools that they utilize for their own self-care. That's when I decided to get trained as a QHHT practitioner. I wanted the people I work with to feel empowered and able to make changes. Psychotherapy is a wonderful tool, but for someone who is looking to get answers and find meaning, QHHT is a quick way to do that.
I am always looking for ways to add to my tool kit, so I recently began a new training in Compassionate Inquiry, which is a Buddhist approach to healing trauma. I will be using this approach in my psychotherapy practice.
