Steve is a knowledgeable and passionate health and fitness coach with a refreshing sense of humor. He has developed a variety of functional fitness classes that are very effective in improving and maintaining strength and mobility, and delivers this training in a very motivational manner that is useful for people across a wide range of capabilities. I have been taking Steve's classes for several months and have been very pleased to see improvements in my flexibility and strength. Steve has a real passion for health and fitness and enjoys sharing his knowledge. He is very patient, understanding that people have different goals and levels of fitness. I highly recommend Steve as an effective and experienced coach who can help you achieve your goals.
A few years ago I took some classes from Steve  and loved his motivating approach to improving agility, balance, and strength. When I decided that I needed to get serious about exercise and health I knew that I needed to work with Steve. He has the right mix of humor and motivation to keep me on track. Under his guidance I am becoming a healthier, more fit person.  I still have a way to go on my fitness journey but know that Steve will help me to get there. 
I was diagnosed with a neurological condition about three years ago. At the time, I was given some reading information, which included some materials which been written by a well-known athlete who had been diagnosed with the same illness. His writings were about how he had adopted a holistic approach to disease management, including dietary changes, and five years later he not only felt better but had managed to lower his weight and minimize the common symptoms of the disease. Unfortunately, he didn’t explain what he did to achieve his goals of feeling better and moving better. So I figured Coach Steve could provide me with some guidance and answer my tons of questions on the benefits of a holistic approach for my disease management. And how to attain that goal! Coach Steve did a marvelous job at setting me straight, helping me find what works for, me but most importantly why. His explanations were clear and understandable. About me

I am a dad of two almost adult boys. I am a fitness coordinator at a gym. I bird watch, bike, hike, play Ultimate Frisbee when I can, and am immersed in health and wellness. It is not only important to me to assist people on their journey to wellness but also help them make informed decisions to help the planet. I am really passionate about helping people live the healthiest version of themselves. I really want to help people address, reverse or avoid the chronic diseases of our society, especially how they relate to COVID-19.

As well as teaching classes, informing people on healthy living, and practicing my craft, I volunteer with the National Audubon Society to clean out fishing line depositories, help manage a purple martin colony, compile data for a local bird and nature club and survey bird populations for citizen science projects for Audubon and Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

My Philosophy of Care

There were two influences in my transition from living to living optimally. The first was the Primal Blueprint. The book put living into a context that made perfect sense to me. We have lived on this earth for millions of years and we should live, eat, play like we are genetically designed not how modern society leads us to believe. The second was Spartan Race. After reading the Primal blueprint I wanted to prove to myself that I could still play have fun and compete again. So I took both of those things, became a trainer, Spartan Coach and then a Primal Health Coach to inspire people to take the journey to health that I traveled.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

On the first call we will discuss your vision of your best self and determine if we are a compatible match to work together. Following that brief discussions we will complete an intake appointment which will be a comprehensive outline of your health and wellness.

From nutrition guidance to customized exercise programs and stress reduction techniques, a Primal Health Coach is a wellness expert that works with clients to create individualized, adaptable, holistic mind-body health plans.

My weightloss journey began in March 2019. I was the heaviest and unhappiest that I'd ever been in my life. I started on my own, counting calories, and watching portions, but not making any real changes to my diet and not paying any attention to carbs or sugars. I made some very slow progress over those first few months. Then Coach Steve had offered help- which at first I thought I didn't need, after all, I had taken Nutrition classes in nursing school, so it wasn't a lack of knowledge, right? WRONG! With Steve's guidance, I soon learned just how misinformed I'd been all along: from the food pyramid in elementary school to the nutrition classes in College. Just over a year since adopting the Primal lifestyle and working with Steve, I have lost nearly 70 pounds and am the healthiest and happiest that I have ever been in my life and I have Coach Steve to thank for it. He is passionate about teaching and helping others to live their best lives. His boundless energy and sense of humor make the journey fun 🙂
