About me

Susan approaches nutrition and healthcare from an integrative and functional perspective. This approach is firmly entrenched in the belief that the body has the capacity to heal itself if given the right tools. I specialize in working with clients that have chronic inflammatory conditions, such as IBS, migraine, autoimmune conditions, eczema, arthritis, fibromyalgia. I use laboratory testing such as micronutrient testing, stool testing and food sensitivity testing to avoid guessing, and to plan a personalized approach for you. As a result, most clients notice a significant improvement in their health in a very short amount of time.

Since 80% of the immune system is in the gut, foods can act as "triggers" causing inflammation, pain, diarrhea and much more. The immune system is as unique as a fingerprint, so there is no one-size-fits all solution. What might give one person a migraine doesn't necessarily give someone else a migraine.

Susan personalizes her approach by combining nutrition, laboratory analysis and supplements (if needed). Most importantly she listens. You know your body better than anyone.

Susan specializes in chronic health conditions such as IBS, inflammatory bowel disease, migraines, chronic headaches, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, eczema, acne, and others.

Currently, Susan is the owner of a private practice in Dallas, TX, but also provides nutrition counseling to long-distance patients via skype or telephone.

In addition to having a Master of Science degree in Nutrition, Susan has also received extensive training in immunology, adverse food reactions, and practical application of dietary treatment for food-sensitive patients, In addition to being a Certified Gluten Practitioner (CGP) she is one of the most experienced Certified LEAP Therapists (CLT) in the country.

My Philosophy of Care

We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Our bodies were created to heal given the right nutrients and identifying root causes. My goal is to assist the healing process by providing education and if needed, testing to identify root causes.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

By looking through any and all prior health history and lab testing, and listening to my client's concerns and desires, we come up with a game plan of next steps. This may or may not involve food sensitivity testing or other testing. Although this is very effective, my goal is not to sell testing but to find out what tools are needed to give us enough information to customize an approach that will fit each client. If possible, I try to give simple things to try first.

My Inspiration

A family member that struggled with health issues motivated me to go back to school and get a master's degree in nutrition and then become a dietitian, focusing on integrative and functional medicine. I'm also motivated to help others avoid some of the struggles and pitfalls I did. I have learned that the body is amazing and geared toward healing itself. I'm thankful to have the tools needed to help accomplish that and also thankful for my wonderful clients who are equally motivated.
