Finding your way to Health and Happiness...
I AM...
I am Terry Treece a nationally certified Diplomate in Acupuncture (NCCAOM) and licensed by the State of Colorado. After more than 5 years of studying Zero Balancing (ZB) I am close to my national certification. I am also a member of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado and the Zero Balancing Association.
I want to be able to do for others what Emily did for me. This medicine offers me that chance and the opportunity to continue learning and growing for life.
I discovered Five-Element Acupuncture 18 years ago when a friend recommended I check it out for depression. Immediately I felt that I had stumbled on to something special. I felt heard and really seen by her in a rare special way. Emily my Acupuncturist helped me see myself through her eyes and to own the good and the difficult. After 8-10 weeks of working with Emily I awoke one day and realized the subtle changes in me and my outlook on the world. The world was a better place.
When I retired from teaching and was looking for a new direction Five-Element Acupuncture seemed like a natural choice.
My Journey……
I attended the Institute of Taoist Education and Acupuncture in Louisville, CO where for two years I studied the theory and practical application of Five-Element Acupuncture and the following two I treated clients under the supervision of Licensed Faculty Supervisors in the ITEA student clinic. After 750 clinical hours I graduated from ITEA.
From an early age I have been a caretaker and supporting individuals through working with the handicapped in high school, summers as a camp counselor for the handicapped and vice president of Teens Aid to the Retarded (TARS.) I went on to teach Special Education for 15 years and 4th and 5th grades for 18. I have always enjoyed exploring nature through hiking, biking, skiing, boating etc. When I heard that a major part of my homework in Acupuncture school would be documenting observations of nature I knew I had hit the jackpot!
I graduated with a BA in Emotional Disturbance from Central State University in June of 1976. I went on to complete a MA in Learning Disabilities from University of Northern Colorado in Dec. of 1980. Later I complete a two year training program to be a Spiritual Counselor at Mile High Church of Religious Science. I also completed training to be a trainer of student mediators.
Currently, I live with my loving partner, Judy, between our two homes in Denver and Cold Creek Canyon.
All of my life and work experiences I feel has led me to this point and gives me a deeper understanding of my clients.
