“I am amazed that there is such a practical side to meditation, that being spiritual isn’t separate from my everyday life experiences.”
I am both a teacher and student of meditation, mindfulness, and intuitiveness. One day a student gave me a refrigerator magnet with the word “Allowing” on it. I took the magnet, said thank you to the student and immediately tried to define the word, analyze the word, compartmentalize the word, put the word in a safe container of what I know so I could study it and eventually… put it away when I grew tired of it.
This is my resistance to allowing. Allowing means openness, giving, sharing, showing off my heart, vulnerability, which then feeds fear and hiding. What does resistance feel like? Take a deep breath and hold it in.
Allowing is the exhale.
The best way for me to expand my own meditation practice, is to allow what I teach to be for the benefit of the world around me. The classes I teach have immediate benefit for anyone willing to try a few minutes. Students feedback includes more ease, less stress, and feeling more comfortable in their own skin.
My teaching style is from a place of being centered and grounded in the practice. The techniques I use are simple guided meditations designed for anyone to use and apply to their everyday lives from how they interact with a partner or spouse to work situations and above all personal growth.
We are all on our path and sometimes we forget to breathe into it and allow our true self to shine through.
I was always searching outside of myself for the answer, be it another guru, dogmatic religion, coach, therapist, friend, parent, you name it. While each one of these can offer benefits and good advice, the real healing of yourself comes from deeply understanding and recognizing who you are. I get that healing by doing inner personal work.
Easier than they thought. Simple enough to do it on your own, at home, during your commute, or wherever you and your spirit are. Very healing and comforting to breathe into their body and let that be enough.
You are totally unique and there are many different meditation styles out there, from apps to yogis, to Eastern, to Western and everything in between. You will find the one that works for you. My style is one that you can take into your religion, take into your workplace, take into your relationship and find benefit from it. Try it! If you like it...repeat!
