Thanks for visiting my site. In 30 years of practice, I've seen all kinds of clients but, they all share the desire for behavioral change.
Before I could help others, I had to help myself! I was interested in nutrition at a young age (14) and realized how little I understood until I went to UNH. Since then, I enjoy spending time staying up to date the evolving science of nutrition that is always changing. I love sharing simple recipes that taste good and are nutritious, ultimately helping clients to reach their goals by translating the science into simple every day actions to get results through small behavioral changes.
From a very young age, I struggled with food and body image issues. My initial interest in nutrition stemmed from hoping to fix 'the outside', but after years of interest and passion for this topic, it's about eating for good health from the inside out!
Inspiring hope and motivation for change.
Not many know what a dietitian brings to the table. With a minimum of a bachelor of science and at least 1200 hours of supervised practice (aka 'internship' of 1 year, usually unpaid), we also have to complete 75 credits (1 credit = 1 hour of study) every 5 years, including at least 2 hours of study in the field of ethics. We must adhere to a very strict code of ethics. I'm also a Certified Personal Trainer, requiring 20 hours of continuing education every two years. And I'm licensed to practice in the state of MA.
