Most doctors believe in fixing and treating disease separately by filling a prescription for each symptom. And while I believe medication is a necessity and a lifesaver in many cases I also think Medicine has its own limitations mainly because it treats the human body separately. It is only one slice of the Health & Wellness pie and it can sometimes become the enemy if used chronically.
My health and wellness philosophy is simple
- Maximize what is needed for your unique body to flourish and heal. Nutrients, minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, healthy fats & proteins, oxygen, water.
- Minimize stressors, inflammation, and toxins ( in food, air, water, personal care products, thoughts).
- Prioritize self-care, rest and repair, relaxation, laughter, breathing, natural movement, meaningful relationships, and work.
What does all this mean? It’s balancing work and life. It’s connecting with mother nature and dipping your toes in the sand. It’s figuring out what makes YOU happy and doing more of that! It's supporting your body with nutrient-rich foods and allowing it to rest when needed. It's changing the negative limiting beliefs with new positive ones. The mind and the body are inextricably connected.
True health happens when you create an environment that will trigger and support you in all these changes.
