"Feng Shui is about the relative relationship and interaction between everything and everybody."
In the early 1960s there was a young Idaho farm girl of 5 years of age who found herself fascinated and interested in drawing houses and floor plans. As a matter of fact, as she grew older and took on responsibilities around the house, her mother would tell her that she was impossible to live with because she was always arranging and rearranging the furniture in her family's home…and insisting that they do not disturb her placement of things. I was that young Idaho farm girl.
Although my sensitivity and interest in environments began in early childhood, my serious interest in Feng Shui began in 1990 while living in Boston, Massachusetts. Major high tech and Fortune 500 companies, such as Reebok, would hire me to consult and oversee the environmental needs of their company's facilities coast to coast, from New York to San Francisco. For example when companies like Reebok would launch a new product line, expand a division, or need to acquire a new facility my involvement would be from the architectural design phases to the overall space planning, specifications, installations and logistics of moving their employees from one work environment to another…seamlessly. I was responsible to oversee my team of designers, installers, movers, and a number of other professionals (electricians, IT, etc) so that employees could leave work Friday evening from one location and walk into work in a new location on Monday morning.
My entire professional career over the last several decades has dealt with environments … be it in the architectural, design, construction, or real estate. So, Feng Shui was a natural segue.
My expertise stems from years of studying a broad cross-section of Feng Shui theories, methods, and modalities.
My interest compelled me to travel the world to learn from some of the best and most world re-known Feng Shui experts.
My formal feng shui studies began over 2 1/2 decades ago when I studied and apprenticed with my first personal mentor, David Daniel Kennedy, author of “Feng Shui for a Better Life”, and “Feng Shui for Dummies.”
David Kennedy was a student and disciple with His Holiness, Grand Master Lin Yun, the leader of the fourth stage of Black Sect Tantric Buddhism. His Holiness is the foremost renown feng shui master in transcendental feng shui in Taiwan, and he brought transcendental feng shui to the Western World and established a temple in Berkeley California.
I was privileged to share quite a bit of time with Grand Master Lin Yun and his family in his home to experience how he lived his feng shui.
I was privileged to participated in many special gatherings of students/consultants/disciples for continued learning with His Holiness, and to offer worldwide blessings, including the very powerful “Changing Destiny with Feng Shui” in Sedona, Arizona.
His Holiness, Grand Master Lin Yun shared some very special feng shui knowledge and insights in the special times spent with him and his family in his home.
Grandmaster Lin Yun encouraged all of his disciples to study all traditional feng shui knowledge as well as transcendental. I do not know, personally, of any of his devotees that followed this instruction, but I did. I took His Holiness at this word, and embarked on a personal mission to study from the best masters of traditional feng shui that I could find.
To say the least, it was daunting, confusing and seemingly contradictory as it was an experience in unlearning everything I had learned until I learned it well enough to understand how to apply traditional and transcendental feng shui in synergy. I stuck with it, and the wisdom of the advise that I acted upon eventually and ultimately resulted in a huge "aHA" of a deeper and more profoundly powerful feng shui because all aspects are integrated.
This is why I call my practice and application, "Feng Shui Alchemy." One definition of alchemy is "a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination of matter."
The world's most renown author and teacher on the subject of traditional feng shui is Lillian Too. I decided that I wanted to study with Lillian Too. Lillian's events took place everywhere in the world except for the United States. I was willing to do whatever it took to study with her, and this involved implementing some feng shui on my part, of course. As luck would have it, lo and behold, Lillian came to teach in the United States for the very first time in the year 2001! Her first event was in Los Angeles and, of course, I there! I continued my studies with Lillian and graduated from Lillian Too's Feng Shui Master Consultant Course in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia the same year. I was invited to spent time with Lillian Too in her home and experience how she lives her feng shui.
In addition to the knowledge and studies with my master feng shui mentors, I chose to deepen my learning and understanding by (1) experiencing how they lived their own feng shui, and (2) I hired each of them to perform feng shui consultations for me and my home, so I could experience their expertise firsthand.
In 2003, my new feng shui baby, Zeneth, and I were one of the cover stories of Feng Shui World magazine, all due to the fertility feng shui that Lillian and I implemented…to get him here.
Over the years of studying, learning, teaching, and growing a successful feng shui practice, I have held a vision of taking my feng shui knowledge and expertise to a quantum level of effectiveness, and the last 10 years has lead me to study with, yet another, powerful feng shui alchemist from Bangladesh. This new adventure has expanded my vision and desire to decode feng shui in a way that every human being that chooses to do so can understand it for what it really is … a simple means of soliciting the power and energy of our environments to support our dreams, goals, desires, and visions for living and experiencing our own ideal life visions.
Thank you for allowing me to share my feng shui story.
