After dealing with runner's knee for the last two years, and seeing two different physical therapists with unsuccessful treatments/exercise programs, I was ready for another approach. I saw Lance and he put me on an exercise program was different, and very meticulous. The program was focused on strengthening my muscular imbalances with foundational movements and exercises that are critical to proper running (rather than just squats or lunges that PTs told me to do). After slowly ramping up on reps and running, I'm back where I was prior to developing my runner's knee issue. Go see Lance!! He's worth every penny.
I had been suffering from heart palpitations that were keeping me up at night. I went to my doctor and I was given a Holter monitor to wear to record my heart rhythm over a 48hr period. My results were normal but my heart continued to pound, and I could not sleep. I was also feeling fatigued and depleted. All the doctors could recommend was Benadryl or Ambien. I made an appointment to see Kathleen, and she used her hands to assess the movement of my body, pinpointing both blocked areas and parts that moved well. After her treatment, I could feel my body relax and align. She then gently applied compression over my heart subtly moving her hands in different directions. I could feel how it was somehow stuck. She said that there was an adherence in the pericardial fascia (connective tissue). Her hands corrected what was stuck and the pounding in my heart stopped. It was completely gone! I have been sleeping better and after a month since the treatment, my heart is still calm, not pounding! I am off sleep aids (that did not work anyway) and feeling much better. I came to this place as a last resort to help limit or stop my pain. I've had recurring pain for over ten years. First a bulging disk in my low back, then my shoulder (old injury) started acting up and then my neck vertebrae rotated, out of the blue. I don't like reliving the past so I will say that I've went to countless MD's, PT's, DM's, DOM's, and all types of other professionals. None have helped more than Marisa!.. She has helped me understand my body more than ever and helped experience my body more than ever. I use to have a narrow view on the human body but that has changed. I've learned you can study physiology, anatomy, or have someone give you exercises but nothing compares to someone skillfully and patiently showing you how to experience body parts you never use or hardly use, that is something else!. In conclusion my pain has gone down dramatically and I've learned a new self-awareness. I am thankful for Marisa and the rest of the team at Return To Movement!

I had hit my head on a sprinkler head that was in the ceiling of an under-stair storage. I was doing a pivot motion, so hit that sprinkler head pretty hard. I didn't have the "red flags" that would require further treatment from my regular doctor, and so I just went home to heal. After 4 weeks, I still had pressure in my head and some dizziness. I had a phone appointment with my doctor and he suggested a DO. I looked on-line and found Katherine. I really liked what she said in her description on their website, as it seemed more personal that the other cold office options. I am very glad I found her. Not only did she relieve my head problems right away, but she has fixed a few of my old injuries that were just quietly tweaking my movement for years. Katherine also gave me tips to keep my movement more fluid for the future. I never knew there was such a practice, but now I believe that all of us should go once a year just to relieve the small body aches that we just live with as we get older. Thanks so much, Katherine!
For over 20 years, I have suffered from on & off back pain related to a vehicular accident in my late teens. I have been to numerous chiropractors, orthopedists, and physical therapists, but the pain and stifling immobility has been almost rhythmical in re-occurrence requiring me to frequently seek out aid so I could again move pain free. She most significantly helped me to realign my spine and hips to minimize the misalignment issues causing me cyclic immobility and pain. Not only did she help me immensely via physical manipulation, but she taught me better ways to support my body via healthier postures and hip tilt which has eliminated over 90% of my back pain. She helped change my life. I also suffered a catastrophic injury to my left arm that has left me partially disabled. Kathleen was instrumental in helping my arm to heal to a point where I can use it almost normally and nobody notices my deficits, but more importantly the chronic pain is gone.
