Sandi has an incredible knowledge about how the human body works. She notices many things about your body before you tell her about your concerns. Sandi philosophy of helping people through yoga and movement is outstanding. Yoga to Sandi is a mission and a force to help others. I have taken land and water Yoga from Sandi and she is outstanding in both venues. Presently, I take Water Yoga from her at Aqua Fit in Plano. EVERY class you come away knowing more about your body. breathing, balance and feeling refreshed and stronger because you came to her class.
Sandi has extensive knowledge regarding the body, specifically how the skeletal and muscular systems work, and many times do not work correctly, in conjunction with the breath, or respiratory system. She was able to design a personalized Viniyoga routine for me based on my skeletal structure and limitations due to extensive back fusions as well as taking into account other conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and fatigue. This personal routine enables me to have a home program at my disposal at all times and has helped improve my flexibility, strength, alignment, balance and breath support, as well as decreasing pain from arthritis and generalized musculoskeletal pain. Sandi also provides continued appointments in order to modify the routine based on progress and/or changes I might be experiencing physically at a particular point in time.
Sandi is thorough and personal. She takes time to listen to overall health of my mind/body/spirit and teaches so much about breath and posture while guiding my personal exercise script.

Learn More About Sandi Tindal

About me

Sandi Tindal has been teaching yoga full-time in the Dallas community since completion of her yoga teacher training with North Texas Yoga in January of 2014. She has over 1600 hours of teaching experience combined with over 50 hours of officially recognized continuing education. She is known for her ability to perceive accurately where each person's capabilities are and to provide creative and helpful adaptations. Her teaching approach and viewpoint are significantly influenced by her background in engineering. Sandi finds that the human body is an engineering marvel and loves to share with others techniques on how to keep the body and mind functioning at their best.

Sandi teaches therapeutic and sustainable yoga practice classes on land and in the water. The emphasis is movement through the guidance of breath. She believes that yoga postures should be practiced with a view of the long haul; safety and cultivating healthy body holding and movement patterns can be connected to as the practitioner develops a healthy relationship between their breath and the spine.

Sandi is passionate about helping others increase their self-awareness through the practice of yoga. The way she teaches gives students opportunities to practice mindfulness, learn more about themselves and exercise loving-kindness towards the self. Students discover that they receive physical benefits such as reduced pain in the body, more mobility, better balance and increased muscle tone. Many students feel they also receive mental and spiritual benefits as well such as improved emotional health, the ability to be open to life's possibilities and increased empathy to others around them.

What is the nature of your back pain? Do you know the primary cause and does the pain mainly show up at night? I think Karen Buck's ideas are great for sleep - you could also incorporate some day time strategies for back pain relief if you know what the cause of it is.

Hi! Check out the Buyteko Breathing Method. There's quite a bit of information that shows up when you type that phrase in a search engine. :)

Hi! I'm with Dr. Cook on the relationship between physical activity, nutrition and brain health. Mindful movements such as those offered in yoga and meditation practices can also boost brain health. What aspect of learning do you feel gets difficult? Is it maintaining attention for long periods of time? Sometimes a learning experience can be improved through interaction with the material either by discussion with someone else or having some kind of kinesthetic connection to the ideas you are trying to absorb. Learning and absorbing new information is a process so be kind to yourself and learn how to enjoy that process.
