About me

My fascination with Chinese philosophy and culture started in the unexpected location of Metro Detroit, Michigan. I studied Mandarin Chinese for several years before taking my first trip to China in 2001. I noticed that preventative healthcare was incorporated into each person’s daily life due to rich cultural connections with ancient Chinese medicine. The use of Tai chi, Qi gong, exercise, acupuncture, food, and plant medicine are all part of everyday life. This experience fueled my desire to cultivate a deep connection with the natural world and look to her rhythms to balance my own. It also set the course for my later studies of Chinese Medicine.

After over 15 years of studying and experiencing Chinese culture, I view the body as an integrated ecosystem just like the planet we live on. The biological communities within our organ systems are constantly interacting with one another and our environment in a dynamic process. Therefore, healing and restoring balance to such an intricate system requires a multifaceted approach on various levels of the body. This includes the physical, emotional, mental, energetic, intuitive and spiritual bodies. They all play their part in the multidimensional dance that weaves our human experience.

I use my knowledge of both Western and Eastern medicine to integrate modern medical approaches with ancient herbal, energetic and complementary techniques to optimize each individual’s quality of life and evolution. I have studied in three hospitals in China shadowing doctors in various fields including: public health, integrative medicine, gynecology, internal medicine, pediatrics, traumatology and gastroenterology. My passion and specialty area is Women’s health, especially pregnancy, post-partum care and fertility.

The five elements philosophy and Chinese medicine provide tools to help identify patterns in nature that mirror interactions within our own body. Ancient wisdom helps to clarify healthy lifestyle choices within our modern culture. In order to empower individuals to take an active role in their health I encourage daily awareness and teach comprehensive tools to enliven your vital healing forces. My goal is to help you discover what health looks and feels like to you by honoring the uniqueness in each individual.
