Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist
Using Clinical Hypnotherapy online and in person, I help clients overcome the obstacles that prevent them from realizing their dreams.
Hi, my name is Sherris.
What is the ray of hope that you need in your life right now? How many places have you searched for it?
If you are like many of my clients, you’re trying to resolve a problem, release a harmful feeling, or reach an important goal, and your efforts have been unsuccessful. You’ve tried everything you can think of, and you’re frustrated because nothing you do quite seems to work.
The alternative to your exhausting struggle is Clinical Hypnotherapy, a gentle, safe and effective process of deep inner transformation.
The great gift that hypnotherapy gives all of us is the ability to collaborate directly with the subconscious mind.
Why does that matter? Well, most of what keeps people stuck is rooted in old memories, beliefs or fears stored in the subconscious mind. Why not go to the source to create the change you want?
As the great Carl Jung famously said, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
For real, sustainable life change there is no faster, more direct method than collaborating with your subconscious mind through hypnotherapy.
Not only can you make the unconscious conscious, you can heal past wounds and create a new path forward that reflects your current life’s desires.
I have always loved the process of personal transformation, and I am constantly amazed by the profound changes that people achieve with this life-altering process.
It would be my honor to guide you on your journey through hypnotherapy. Miracles happen. I’ve seen them!
Recuperating after three life-threatening events I stumbled on an article on hypnosis in Psychology Today. Something inside me lit up. Here was something that probably would have helped me during my long stays in the hospital! I continued to read and research, becoming more and more interested and excited about everything I learned. The schooling to become a hypnotherapist was often grueling but so worth it! I love my job! It is such a blessing to be able to help people with this gentle and effective process.
The most common question I am asked is, “What happens in a hypnotherapy appointment?”
My appointments are 1.5 hours long and are divided into two parts, mindful coaching and hypnosis.
Mindful coaching takes between 30 and 45 minutes. It is a process where you and I sit together in the spirit of enquiry without judgment. We discuss your difficulties and your successes and allow ourselves to be open to whatever might come up for you in that moment.
Through questions and answers, we fine-tune our awareness of exactly what you are experiencing including thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and current perceptions. Gradually we discover the single most productive focus for hypnosis at that time.
The second part of the appointment is devoted to hypnosis around the theme that we uncover during coaching.
You get comfortable in my large recliner, and through spoken words and sometimes music, I lead you through a process of relaxation so you can enter trance. I then guide you through an experience of either suggestions tailored to your desired result, an examination of a particular time or event that is troubling you, or an imagined experience designed to resolve a specific issue.
Hypnosis takes 45 minutes to an hour, and is followed by a brief conversation about how you can integrate everything you have learned into your conscious mind.
The second most common question I am asked is “What does it feel like to be in trance?”
Trance is a relaxed state where your subconscious mind is dominant and your conscious mind is awake and watching, but not particularly active.
Most people find being in trance very enjoyable. Your sense of time may be slightly altered, and your ability to remember certain experiences may be heightened.
The depth of hypnotic trance entered varies from person to person and from one experience to another. You may enter a very deep trance that feels like dreaming, or you may enter a light trance that feels like you are nicely relaxed and open to new experiences.

Hypnotherapy is a gentle, holistic process of creating permanent change in your life. People often come to me after they have tried everything else. Others have told them "what" they need to do, but given them no help in "how" they can do it. I help you with the "how" so change can be easy and lasting..
