I received my bachelor’s degree in music therapy from the University of Alabama- Tuscaloosa and master’s degree in music therapy from St. Mary of the Woods College. My work experience includes a variety of settings- inpatient and outpatient adult mental health treatment facilities, schools and home-based therapy for children diagnosed with autism and other special needs, and skilled nursing facilities with adults suffering with Alzheimer’s and dementia. I completed training in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music in 2013 and have been a Fellow of the Association for Music and Imagery since then. I have owned my private practice in Huntsville since 2009 focusing mainly on using Guided Imagery and Music to improve adult mental health and wellness.
Music has always been a big part of my life, and I enjoy helping people. Music therapy is the prefect marriage of those two things for me. I feel truly honored to be able to help my clients.
You don't need to know anything about music-- that's my job! Music simply offers a different way of experiencing, managing, and processing difficult emotions. Many of my clients find that it's easier to talk about how they're feeling through music or songs. All you really need to benefit from music therapy is an open mind and a willingness to try something new!
