I first heard about the Feldenkrais Method while in music school but didn't actively pursue studying it until later when working as a nurse. I have benefited tremendously from the method personally having been through illness and several surgeries. It restored a sense of normalcy and speeded recovery.
Practicing awareness while engaged in gentle movement activities allows you to observe yourself in action and to learn or remember how to make things easier for yourself. This generalizes to many areas of life and clients often experience pain and stress reduction, reduced anxiety, increased energy and improved posture, balance and flexibility.
