I grew up in a traditional American home where we ate, drank, and lived without giving much thought to what we consumed. At 13 years old I was diagnosed with acid reflux (GERD) and had an operation to block the stomach acid. Up until I was 25 I would have regular cases of heart burn, gas, bloating, upset stomach, frequent colds, bronchitis, weight gain, and fatigue. In 2006 a friend introduced me to holistic health and nutrition. I learned about what foods are beneficial for the body and why others are so harmful. After making changes in my diet, lifestyle, and mindset, I was able to strengthen my gut microbiome, immune system, and digestive health. Today I very few cases, if any, of heartburn, a regular digestive and elimination health, very few colds or illness, and high level of natural energy. The progress has been incredible and I have a much better understanding of what foods work for me and what foods do not.
After completing several coaching programs, reading many books, attending conferences, and networking with other health professionals I decided to start my own coaching practice. Today I am educating clients and guiding them through lifestyle changes to improve their health and reverse degenerative disease. My coaching uses methods and concepts obtained from the CHEK Institute, Institute of Transformational Nutrition, and Price-Pottenger. I approach each client with a whole body (mind, body, and spirit) perspective. Each program is tailored based on your metabolic type and is designed to fit your needs.
How I can Help:
If you are experiencing heartburn (acid reflux), gas and bloating, poor digestion, weight gain, frequent colds or bouts of sickness, symptoms of type II diabetes, and fatigue I will evaluate your nutrition and lifestyle to find a solution. Small changes lead to big results. Without knowing what foods your body needs and why, you’ll experience discomfort and pain. Using Metabolic Typing I will obtain information on how your body processes food and determine what types of food are best for your type. In order to balance your metabolic processes, we must examine how you best metabolize nutrients. After completing questionnaires, food logs, and a health history, I will design a nutrition plan that supports homeostasis and balances your metabolic systems.
Once you have a strong foundation of nutrition we can then explore how to improve your health by eliminating or reducing: accumulated toxins, environmental stressors, mental or emotional blockages, negative thoughts/emotions and energy draining people. I will recommend exercises that build you up and give you strength. Being healthy is not just eating clean foods and exercising. It is a lifestyle that incorporates understanding your body on a deeper level. You must learn how to think, breath, act, and love for yourself in order to support your hormones, organs, glands, and bodily systems. Imbalances in your vitamin, mineral, hormone pathways, nervous system, happiness, and mental functions come from different sources. Being able to identify those sources and eliminate them will provide you with lifelong approach to success and optimal health.
