About me

I'm a Life and Health Coach specializing in self-care and behavioral shifts, Co-Founder and Board Vice President of KAHA TAHI- a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that consists of entrepreneurial women.
We provide the tools and resources for the everyday woman who is bravely facing life's stresses and burdens to be empowered so that she can avoid overwhelm and burnout when circumstances are outside of her control.
KAHA TAHI = Strength Together
On a more personal note:
I'm married with two busy kids, a follower of Jesus Christ, and love spending time with my family. I enjoy slalom water skiing, running, hiking, and other forms of intentional movement; I like to mix it up. Consistency is key for me.
I worked in corporate America for almost 20 years. After I had my first child, I decided to step down so that I could be the one raising them and work part time in the same field. Several years later, I wanted to help women on a deeper level and decided to go back to school and chose HCI--Health Coach Institute, an accredited school of the International Coach Federation where I received my Health and Life Coaching certifications.

My Philosophy of Care

Everybody and EVERY body is uniquely different. One size does not fit all, ESPECIALLY when it comes to our health and wellness.
I coach the everyday working woman who is pulled in all directions to prioritize herself so that she has the energy and focus for harmony at home and work.
I also offer a unique program for businesses where I provide coaching for your team. I give tools for healthier habits, improved self-care, less sick days, enhanced harmony, and better morale in the office.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

I offer a Healthy Habits for Me session. This is a no cost 45 min. private consultation where we'll uncover the challenges your experiencing, why your stuck, how to get unstuck, and what your plan of action is to experience transformation and harmony.

My Inspiration

While trying to stay active and healthy throughout my life, I noticed there always seemed to be a new fad or diet about what was and wasn't healthy. I found this to be crazy and wanted to figure out what healthy was for me and be able to help others do the same.

With the right system, the right support, and the right accountability, I guide the everyday working woman through a transformational process where she makes lasting habit changes.

Here are a few tips for a better nights sleep: -Create an aesthetic environment in your bedroom that encourages sleep by using serene and restful colors. Eliminate clutter and distraction. -Avoid caffeine or reduce it after noon. -Avoid alcohol - it helps you get to sleep but makes your sleep interrupted and of poor quality. -Get regular exposure to daylight for at least 20 minutes daily. The light from the sun enters your eyes and triggers your brain to release specific chemicals and hormones like melatonin that are vital to healthy sleep, mood, and aging. -Eat no later than two hours before bed - eating a heavy meal prior to bed will lead to a bad night's sleep and will impede the body’s overnight detoxification process. **Create a Power down hour before bed which can include: -Writing down the things that are causing you anxiety and make plans for what you might have to do the next day to reduce your worry. It will free up your mind and energy to move into deep and restful sleep. -Take a hot salt or aromatherapy bath. Raising your body temperature before bed helps to induce sleep. A hot bath also relaxes your muscles and reduces tension physically and psychically. -Warm your middle with a hot water bottle - this raises your core temperature and helps trigger the proper chemistry for sleep. -Listen to relaxing music to help you fall asleep.

Yes, Meditation is a great way to to help with stress and anxiety. There are a couple of other things I also, recommend. 1- Learn a breathing technique. My favorite is to do the 5-5-7 breath. Simply breathe in for 5 (fill lungs about 2/3 full), hold for 5 and release for 7. (If this is too long at first, you can start with a 3-3-5 breath and work up). I like this breathing technique because I focus on the counting and that is kind of like meditation since I am clearing my mind as well as slowing down my breathing. And 2- List all things you are grateful for. By focusing on what we have vs. what we don't, we create so many health benefits. So, what happens physiologically when we choose to control our breathing or choose gratitude? The Autonomic Nervous System in our bodies regulate our bodily function. This has two branches that greatly impact our health. The Sympathetic Nervous system, known as fight or flight, turns ON the stress response. And the Parasympathetic Nervous System, known as rest and digest, turns OFF the stress response. They cannot both be on at the same time! When you Control your breathing or are feeling grateful, your Sympathetic Nervous System switches off and the Parasympathetic Nervous system switches on. That means that your stress response turns OFF and your relaxation and peace response turn ON.
