You are as young as your spine is flexible!
Have been practicing physical therapy for just about 50 years! I will always be grateful that I chose it as my major in college, as I almost went in another direction….
I have found that taking extra courses, beyond the basic I learned in college has so enhanced my practice that I was able to step out on my own into a private practice with an office in my home. That surely is a joy, as I can take the time I need to do all that is needed on each individual client. This was impossible when I worked in a clinic or out patient office or hospital, and I have worked in many!
Manual bodywork is how I would describe what I do. Using Upledger’s craniosacral therapy combined with a few other bodywork techniques, clients find relief usually in one session. It is my passion, then to instruct them as to how to keep their body that way, so they are not dependent on me. They of course may need a second or third treatment, but the instruction helps them to partner with me so that they become part of the healing process. I am passionate about this one thing. The body cannot function correctly unless it is lined up and symmetrical. This means that the 2 pelvic bones must be addressed, as they are the center of gravity for the whole body. Once they are aligned, which happens as part of the body/’s self healing mechanism as craniosacral therapy is applied - the spine is then able to correct itself… This carries over into pregnancy and it is my joy to straighten the pelvis of pregnant women, no matter where they are in their pregnancy. I am able to relieve the pain in their body that can be caused by a mis-aligned pelvis, and this in turn affords the birth to be EASY! No breach births here!
When the pelvis is aligned, the tailbone can function as it should, pushing the head of the baby through the birth canal with the gentle cranio-sacral rhythm. Anytime I have been able to see a mother just before giving birth, the birthing process has always been so much easier!
Often after the birth, I find that the pelvis has not gone back to it’s original state in the body symmetrically, so it is important to re-align a woman’s pelvis after her birth to give her the pain-free body she deserves!
I have also treated children and delight in helping them achieve a pain free state!
My work is by appointment only.
I loved medicine in school, and I really wanted to work with people, so physical therapy seemed like a perfect fit!
Here is what a real client who had a terrible nauseous feeling everyday day in her head explained it..." I feel good! I have not had that nauseous feeling in my head today....so far so good! thank you again!
It is a hands on very light touch therapy, which will totally relax you. I will spend a lot of time working with very light touch on your head, and possibly in your mouth to take care of making sure these small, important bones are doing what they were designed to do. They are so important to the health of the rest of the body,
