Cura Natural Medicine
Be Happy, Healthy & Empowered Through Holistic Wellness. Learn to listen to and love your body, and learn to think miraculously about yourself and your long-term health and well-being.
I received my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in June 2011, and followed that up with a one year residency position at NUNM. I bring with me 20 years of experience as a licensed massage therapist, a lifelong interest in health and nutrition, and a deep interest in understanding the body-mind connection. My passion is helping you to feel great in your body while gaining a deeper understanding of how your body communicates with you.
My approach to your health is very individualized. I integrate nutritional counseling, herbal medicine, aromatherapy, homeopathy, lifestyle counseling, spiritual counseling, massage therapy and more to help bring my patients to a state of balanced wellness. I find that educating patients on how to take an active role in their healing process, in combination with individualized treatment plans leads to powerful lasting changes. My clinical interests most specifically include digestive health, nutrition, women's health, fertility, endocrinology, musculo-skeletal conditions, and chronic conditions such as insomnia, anxiety, fatigue, fibromyalgia, candida, hypertension and depression. My goal, in addition to helping you find a place of balanced health and feeling really good in your body, is to help you to develop a deeper connection to your physical body and its messages. This in turn helps you to deepen your relationship with yourself and your intuition, which all leads back to a more satisfying experience!
I am also a trained pelvic health specialist. Using the modalities of ATMAT (Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage Therapy), HPC (Holistic Pelvic Care), traditional massage therapy, and a variety of other creative tools, I can significantly help you to improve your pelvic health. Pelvic congestion can lead to infertility, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, low back pain and a variety of other health concerns. For men, Maya Abdominal Massage can be very helpful for BPH and generally increasing circulation to the hips and pelvic area. ATMAT is also very beneficial for digestion for everyone.
Massage therapy is an integral healing tool for me. I specialize in swedish, deep tissue, pain management, reiki, pre-and post-natal massage, cranial sacral therapy and ATMAT (Maya Abdominal Massage Therapy), and I have trained in many other diverse modalities over the years. My bodywork sessiona are a unique blend of the most effective aspects of each modality and are tailored to you and your body's needs. I enjoy many long-term relationships with massage clients who are now patients too!
I also work with patients who are healing from auto accidents, and I am able to bill your auto insurance. In some cases, I may prefer you choose a chiropractor as the primary care physician, though I am happy to evaluate you before making this recommendation.
When not working with patients, I can be found gardening, hiking, traveling, cooking
or enjoying a good house project.
