Personalized nutrition counseling to optimize health, specializing in gut health, chronic fatigue, autoimmune disease, and/or endometriosis
As a board-certified nutritionist and health coach trained in functional medicine, I specialize in helping clients with gut issues and autoimmune conditions find relief and achieve optimal wellness. By identifying the root causes of your symptoms, we can create a personalized plan that incorporates dietary changes, lifestyle modifications, and/or targeted supplements to support your health. Whether you have a diagnosed condition like IBS, IBD, Crohn's disease, colitis, celiac disease, Hashimoto's, multiple sclerosis (MS), Sjogren's, or lupus, or are still searching for answers, I'm here to guide you on your journey to better health. I'm happy to work in collaboration with other professionals in your healing journey, such as your primary care physician, therapist, and/or specialty physician.
I know firsthand the frustration of struggling with chronic health issues without finding lasting relief. I also understand that making sustainable changes can be challenging, which is why I incorporate behavior modification and improving your relationship with food as a significant portion of our work together. Using intuitive eating and mindful eating principles among other behavior change concepts, we'll break down your protocol into manageable steps that fit your unique needs and preferences.
I believe in working collaboratively to build a personalized plan and set actionable steps as part of your transformative health journey. My goal is for you to feel empowered about your health. Many people believe that nutritional counseling means giving up their favorite foods and adhering to a strict, clean eating regimen. However, I firmly believe that healthy eating patterns and lifestyles come in many forms. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition, and what works for one person may not work for another. My goal is to help you create a sustainable, enjoyable way of eating that supports your unique health needs while still allowing room for pleasure and flexibility. By avoiding unnecessary restrictions and focusing on balance, we can develop a lifelong approach to nourishing your body and mind.
I primarily work with adults (18+). I welcome everyone including those in the LGBTQ+ community. I also offer discounts for students, teachers, veterans, active military personnel, first responders, those with Medicare/Medicaid, and more. I do not take insurance but do have payment plans. About me
Hi! My name is Kendra Whitmire (she/her). In addition to holding a master's degree in nutrition and functional medicine, currently undertaking a doctorate in clinical nutrition (both from the University of Western States), and being a Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS), I have experienced firsthand the transformative power of food and nutrition to improve health.
After years of searching for answers to my own gut problems, anxiety, and chronic fatigue, I worked with a nutritionist, which helped me experience improvements in my health. This inspired me to pursue a career in this field so I could help others like myself. Although I remain on my own health journey, I finally feel that I am back to a place where I can once more live the life I want to live and engage in the activities I want to do! I want to support others in finding the same for themselves.
My path to becoming a nutritionist has not been a simple, linear journey. I previously worked as a freelance writer, and still do sometimes. In addition to my nutrition degree, I hold two master's degrees in English from the Shakespeare Insitute, a part of the University of Birmingham in England. I have a bachelor's degree in English and German from the University of Southern California. In my spare time, I enjoy running, the beach, reading, watching TV and movies, and going to Disneyland.
