Learn More About Alexandria Larsen, FMCHC

About me

I flourished in a small town as a runner and animal lover and when it came time to leave my familiar bubble I went 30 minutes West to The Ohio State University. I majored in Zoology, on the Pre-Veterinary Medicine track.

Shortly after graduating, in 2017, I got tired of arguing with my doctors who kept saying my symptoms were genetic and irreversible. So i sought out an approach that didn't just hide my symptoms, I tried a holistic and natural approach to my health and wellbeing. I could hardly believe what an empowering and remarkable transformation I underwent from adopting this new perspective.

Come 2019, I was inspired by the changes I made and results I obtained, and I wanted to help others who were being told "there's nothing else you can do.”

Now, as an FMCHC, I am on a mission to educate and support others in a transformation to their ideal selves and to manifest the vision that currently lies in their mind’s eye! My focus is on hormonal imbalances (like PCOS), gut dysfunction, nutrition, functional movement, and mindset/motivation.

I find joy in reading, fermenting, cooking, gardening, running, yoga, smiling, sipping tea, crafting, bonding with my pets, and connecting with people heart to heart.

My Philosophy of Care

I look at each client as a whole, and unique individual with full creative potential. I encourage people to believe in the power of the mind and I am convinced that finding balance among the five pillars of health (nutrition, hydration, movement, sleep, and relationships) is the key to well-being.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

A free 30-min "Meet & Greet" where we get to know one another, and explore what each of us will bring to the coach-client relationship. I might ask about current and future goals, motivation for change, desires, struggles, and past successes. If there is a mutual interest in moving forward we will schedule a "Foundation Session," a 60-90 min session where we dig into the meat of what you want, what is preventing you from getting it, what tools and resources are available, and how I can help!

If you are following the Institute for Functional Medicine's (IFM) Elimination Diet protocol you will want to eliminate all of the following for a minimum of 21 days, - Dairy, Eggs, Gluten, Peanuts, Pork, Beef, Corn, Shellfish, Soy, Processed Sugars, Alcohol, Coffee, and Chocolate. After 21-days you begin the reintroduction phase. Slowly reintroducing the foods back into your diet, one at a time, while tracking any symptoms. This enhances your awareness to foods that have an inflammatory effect on your unique body :)

What a great question and the simple answer is YES! One effective approach is the Elimination Diet. This is a 30-day commitment to eliminating inflammatory foods followed by a reintroduction of those foods, one at a time, while tracking any reactions. This diet not only decreases inflammation, it also gives the body a chance to heal and enhances your awareness to foods that have an inflammatory effect on your unique body :) Through diet you can alleviate inflammation FIRST by eliminating certain foods from your diet. Foods like dairy, gluten, corn, soy, alcohol, pork, and sugar are commonly known to cause inflammatory symptoms. And SECOND, adding anti-inflammatory foods can also help alleviate leaky gut. Some examples are berries, fatty fish, broccoli, cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, and green tea.
