I have taken yoga classes (mat based and chair based) with Amanda for at least 3 years. She clearly articulates instructions for each pose and provides alternative movements to accommodate each student's ability. Emphasis will be placed on areas( i.e., neck, legs, shoulders) requested by students . Classes start on time and end on time. I highly recommend yoga classes taught by Amanda.
Amanda knows exactly what we need to be doing to keep ourselves active in this stage of our lives. Her flow sequence is well orchestrated for a positive overall body experience. As a person with Parkinson’s, I am so grateful for her appropriate pace so we don’t feel overwhelmed. You will feel amazing after each class!
Amanda is a wonderful instructor for all yoga levels! I have been taking classes with her for almost 3 years and have enjoyed each and every class! She does a great job mixing things up and is happy to listen to what her clients needs are for that particular class! Are you a senior, who perhaps has spent most of your life in a desk job, who perhaps has neglected to do proper exercise for decades, or has noticed that you just can't move around like you once could? Well, that is a description of me until I started taking Amanda's chair yoga and chair cardio earlier this year. The first thing Amanda told me is "It is never too late to start", and for me her classes have really made me feel much better, with less stiffness, more comfortable range of motion, better balance when moving, etc. I recommend her classes for anyone who wants to feel better.
I consistently use Amanda's chair yoga video. It has made a big difference for me. I am much more flexible than before and it has reduced stiffness and pain. Amanda is an excellent teacher - I highly recommend her yoga instruction.
I'm almost 72 and have been going to Amanda for 3 years now. I started on the mat, but decided to do chair yoga because of the arthritis in my hands. Amanda has a grace of teaching and guiding others that no matter if you struggle, she's there to help you do your best for your body. I also added her Ageless Grace class from it's beginning and it's so amazing how it's helped me get up out of chairs, strengthen cardio and have lots of fun doing it! Since Covid-19, my husband, who is 72, started doing Amanda's ZOOM classes with me and we now do 4 a week! Gentle Flow yoga is helpful for balance and stretching, 2 Ageless Grace/Brain and Body Fitness & 1 Chair yoga! I'm finding my body has gotten more flexible and stronger, and my arthritis has greatly improved! And last but not least her breathing practice has helped my sleep apnea and getting to sleep at night. It's an important lifestyle for me now.
Now 72, I have been practicing restorative/gentle yoga with Amanda for about 6 years. During that time, I have had bunion surgery, hand surgery to rebuild a thumb knuckle, carpel tunnel/ulner nerve surgery on the other hand/arm, and rotator cuff surgery. All problems were the result of long-term overuse or accident outside my yoga practice. With Amanda’s help, I recovered completely from all surgeries. My physical therapist was particularly impressed with how quickly I recovered range of motion in my shoulder after surgery. Amanda is well-trained and thorough in her calm instruction. I highly recommend her classes. She was recommended to me by my niece, a yoga instructor in Oregon who researched all possibilities in Tallahassee for me.
I am so thankful for my friend who introduced me to Amanda’s Zoom Yoga classes. I have always been physically active but have RA, scoliosis, and two cervical spine fusions. I truly didn’t think I could “do” yoga. Amanda has made me feel welcome and is encouraging. She offers modifications for each pose without drawing attention to who might need the modification. I have had a reduction in pain and an increase in my range of motion since I began her classes.
Amanda taught small group classes at her home studio when I started last year. I have scoliosis with rods and fusions, so yoga is perfect; my orthopedist and neurologist felt the same. What a difference that hour each week makes for my low back pain, my stress level, plus posture and flexibility. Her classes are all online now. I miss her tranquil studio, but still wouldn't miss her weekly online class.
Amanda’s zoom classes are challenging for me, but I also feel relaxed after each one. As a senior, I appreciate the increased flexibility and joint health!
I chose Amanda to use for preparation and rehab for spinal surgery. She has been a great choice for me with her Zoom classes that I can modify as needed in addition to her private lessons.
Amanda is an excellent excellent yoga instructor. She is able to gently and carefully instruct us in Yoga practice that enhances our physical strength and flexibility and emotional well being. Her yoga class improves my body, mind and spirit. I recommend her yoga classes highly.
Though many yoga classes are available online, I started Zoom classes with Amanda this year and appreciate how personalized they are. She reaches out from the computer screen to offer gentle corrections to poses. She is deeply knowledgeable about the benefits of yoga's trilogy of mind, body and spirit. Her classes effectively span abilities whether age-related or by experience practicing yoga. She explains nuances of movement to help maximize our effort. And no classes are exactly alike, which keeps the practice fresh and fun.
