I believe the benefits of recreation are for every body and strive to empower my clients' to recognize and utilize their strengths to achieve their wellness goals
Prior to returning to school as a student veteran, I have spent the last several years as a yoga and meditation teacher in our community. My focus has been adaptive and trauma-informed yoga classes for military veterans, people experiencing homelessness, people who have recently been in the prison system, and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Throughout my career, my involvement in my community, and my own recreation pursuits, I have developed skills in leadership, interpersonal communication, planning, problem solving, and decision making. I also bring enthusiasm, flexibility, and experience in facilitating activities.
I believe everybody has the right to health, well-being, and peace. Through recreation and mindfulness practices I empower my clients to recognize and utilize their strengths to achieve their wellness goals
During an initial consultation, Aron will assess her clients strengths, interests, needs, and goals to create a holistic, individualized plan using recreation to meet client goals.
I have been fortunate to have a life rich with recreation activities like running, cycling, yoga, art, and enjoying nature. As a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington Recreation Therapy program, my studies have reinforced what I sensed intuitively, which is that recreation increases resiliency and connection.
