The Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis Methods are highly adaptable, making them accessible to anyone, regardless of age or physical ability.
I am passionate about the Gyrotonic method. If you don't know what that is go to www.gyrotonic.com. I am a Gyrotonic trainer who came to this work from an unusual direction. Unlike many trainers who come from dance, physical therapy, yoga, or other body movement careers, I was just a normal, getting older, healthcare executive spending up to 70% of of my time traveling and looking for a comprehensive work out that would keep me in shape and ease the aches and pains I was beginning to experience.
As I practiced I felt younger, stronger, longer, more flexible, healed injuries (a frozen shoulder of 15 years) and all around healthier. The Gyrotonic practice connected my mind and body in ways I had not previously experienced and it was also fun and it worked! It changed my life and I haven’t stopped since my first session.
The decision to become a Gyrotonic teacher was the product of my own years of Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis practice. As I moved into retirement I realized that I wanted to share my passion for this unique, transformative way of exercising with as many people as possible, help others to find and maintain movement in their bodies, no matter what their age of physical abilities.
As the owner of The Movement Studio I have made a personal commitment to use my business skills and experience to provide a place for Columbia Gyrotonic teachers to grow their own practices as well as to expand awareness and grow the local Gyrotonic community, teaching others and guiding them on their own journey to better movement and better health.
