Christy is a knowledgeable, patient and compassionate coach who listened to and focused on my needs to change my eating habits (a big job since they were very ingrained in me) and dislike of exercise. I am a stress eater and would "fly" to sugary foods especially when under stress. She showed me alternative ways to handle stress while improving my choices for foods. I learned some new foods that I would never have tried without her encouragement, and am enjoying planning and fixing meals again. She helped me plan healthier, tastier meals, including Thanksgiving and Christmas, to help me make sure I didn't load up on sweets which always happened (I learned moderation works wonders). She encouraged me to take small steps to integrate new changes that have now become new healthy habits. I also started exercising more and enjoy it now, and have lost pounds and maintained a healthy weight, even during the holidays and the pandemic. I highly recommend Christy for anyone wanting to change old habits to live a happier, healthier lifestyle. It's not easy to teach your parent, but she did a beautiful job!

About me

I am an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach specializing in working with womxn who previously experienced interpersonal trauma move from feeling anxious and insecure to calm and empowered so that they can create a life full of awareness, joy and presence. Learning about myself and other people who live(d) in the present and in the past has always fascinated me so I earned a Master's degree in Anthropology. I enjoy running, kickboxing, and practicing yoga. Through these ways of moving, making nutritional choices that work best for me, and practicing self-awareness, I have discovered a way of life that works best for me and is dynamic/ever-evolving as I grow, learn, and continue expanding.

My Philosophy of Care

After years of therapy which helped me to process past traumas, I was feeling like something was missing in my healing. I started to study integrative nutrition and explore different foods and choices which helped me to significantly decrease my symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I am honored and excited to be a part of a client's healing journey toward awareness, joy, and presence through nutrition and lifestyle choices.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

At our first visit we will discuss your current health concerns and what your health and wellness goals are. We will come up with actionable steps together that you can take as we work together towards meeting your goals.

My Inspiration

I would say to begin with an open mind and to remember that if you are seeking help to improve your health, that's a great first step! As a health coach, I am here to guide you to explore and discover what works best for you, not to prescribe a specific diet or set of regimented exercises. We work together towards your health and wellness goals so please share what works for you, what doesn't, and what you would like to do differently.

When I asked myself this question a few years back, I learned that my work was not in alignment with my values and that I did not allow myself the time to rest and reconnect during the weekend so I would start the week with a "deficit." Therefore, reflecting on why you don't feel great on Monday mornings may help - and keep in mind that some of it may be related to our society/culture telling us to dread Monday mornings. Our mindset about it plays a large role. Reflect on what brings you joy and incorporate more of that in your life, especially if there's something that can be part of your Monday morning routine that you look forward to (such as drinking a favorite tea or taking 15 minutes to read a favorite book). You could also reflect on what it would be like to have an ideal day on Mondays - what would you do? when? how? with whom? And see how you may be able to change your schedule or routine to align more with your values, needs, and desires.
