Anima Acupuncture and Healing Arts
Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac), MSOM
I'm a licensed acupuncturist originally from Marshalltown, Iowa, and I received bachelor of arts in Religion and Philosophy at Coe College in 2013. I graduated valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota in 2016 with a master’s degree in Oriental Medicine, learning both eastern and western medical modalities and interning for 2 years in a variety of medical settings.
I have worked with HIV-positive and underserved populations at the Aliveness Project and Pillsbury House in Minneapolis working with medication side effects, mental health, digestive and hormonal irregularity, and pain. I have also administered post-operative pain, nausea, and anxiety relief at Regions and Woodwinds hospitals in the Twin Cities area, and I've worked with a variety of other populations at on-campus clinics throughout my 3-year training. Altogether, I have over 3,000 hours of in class and practical training in acupuncture and Oriental medicine. Today, I have established an acupuncture practice in the Cedar Rapids area at The Therapeutic Collective.
In my off time, I really enjoy playing club and league Ultimate Frisbee in and around the Cedar Rapids area and love to bike ride. I also dabble in tabletop games and enjoy spending time with my husband and my cute little kitty, Lila!
