Dr. Sandra McIlvain is a Naturopath Doctor (ND)Certified Natural Health Professional (CNHP)
She began her journey in the field of healing arts in 1999 when she enrolled in massage therapy school. Accelerated studies allowed her to obtain her license in one year, rather than the standard two year program. Upon graduating, she opened her first massage therapy practice, The StillPoint Center, in Hickory, NC.
In 2000, Dr. Sandra was introduced to an all natural/organic product line of nutritional supplements, vitamins and remedies from a company now named Physica Energetics. She incorporated them into her practice and they remain her foundation products today.
As The StillPoint Center grew, Dr. Sandra saw the need for a more comprehensive wellness center to better meet the needs of her clientele. To achieve this vision, she sold the practice to her business partner in 2008 and once again used accelerated studies to obtain her Certified Natural Health Professional (CNHP) designation in 2010 and her Doctor of Naturopathy (ND) in 2015.
After a family move, Dr. Sandra opened Integrative Health by Design (IHD) in April 2015 in Denver, NC. The clinic will be relocating to a larger facility in nearby Stanley, NC in January 2018 to better meet the needs of her growing practice.
Dr. Sandra is active in the Women of Western Lake Norman (WOW), a professional businesswomens association, and is a requested presenter at various organizational functions interested in learning more about the path to natural wellness.
The body is designed to heal itself given the proper terrain in which to do so.
The first visit generally takes an hour and consists of a full consultation along with an electro dermal screening utilizing a bio-energetic assessment device. The accumulated information then is used to determine a protocol to begin to bring the body into balance.
Early on, I believed healing encompasses body, mind and heart. It has been, and continues to be, my goal to address the 'whole you.'
