The desire to be a social worker came to me as a young girl during my convalescence from major surgery to correct a congenital defect in my legs. During my extended stay at the hospital, I was exposed to others dealing with their own physical challenges. My heart opened to them with compassion and an overwhelming desire to support and encourage them.
Through my challenges in life I was surrounded by love and my own knowing that life is inherently good. I experienced myself as a student open to its teachings.
In therapy one may discover that the ability to move forward in life goes beyond the psychological. The path to confidence, and connection in the world is predicated upon embodying and aligning the physical, the emotional and the spiritual. Therapy helps us meet life experiences with an openness to see our most horrendous experiences become our most valuable teachers.
I have 28 years of experience in private practice as a psychotherapist. I am licensed in Maryland and Washington DC as a LCSW-C and LICSW . My post masters studies include Marriage and Family Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Jungian Archetypal Therapy, Imago Therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Reconnection, EMDR and Family Constellations.

During the first visit I discover what motivated the client to come and take a complete history including a family history. Then I share a preliminary plan of how I think we can meet the client's needs.
