I believe thoughts, beliefs and emotions create our experience of the world around us and profoundly impacts health. These times are challenging, demanding resourcefulness and flexibility - difficult when you feel sick and tired.
I help people live better with their circumstances. We take a look at self-care, beliefs, habitual thought and emotional patterns. I encourage spiritual health by examining life purpose, values, priorities and goals. I use my intuitive skills to assess health, root causes, beliefs and trapped emotions..
I also offer classes to groups.
For emotional self-regulation, I teach the techniques developed by the Institute of HeartMath. The skills are easy to learn and highly effective to manage stress, anxiety and fear. I felt so strongly about them, I became a Certified Mentor for their Building Personal Resilience Program and a Trainer for the Resilience Advantage Program. I too have faced the challenges of being a caregiver, my Father who is in his late 90's has chronic respiratory disease and dementia. I have learned to walk my talk!
During 40+ years in Health Care I worked in the hospital and also did home care. I witnessed how illness and injury impacts patients and their families. I teach skills to help maintain balance while undergoing difficult medical treatment or serving as a caregiver. One barrier to healing and adaptation is stress experienced as fear, anxiety or anger. These emotions drain energy, reduce the ability to cope, communicate effectively, and make decisions.
I also work with professional caregivers to prevent compassion fatigue and burn-out. The toll of caregiving cannot be underestimated, many health care professionals lose their heath before they even get a chance to retire. Many spouses who care for their loved ones don't survive much longer than those they care for.
They feel calmer, more focused and relieved that there is something they can do to bring themselves into balance and relieve the stress or anxiety they have been experiencing. They leave feeling like they have a clear plan for moving forward.
