About me
About meI grew up in California and did my medical training at UCLA and residency in family medicine in Santa Monica. I taught in my residency for several years before I was recruited to Kansas City to serve as Director of Education for the American Academy of Family Physicians. After several years I was recruited to the University of Kansas School of Medicine to be Chair of Family Medicine. After several years in that position, I founded an integrative health center in the Kansas City area. After 20 years of leading an eclectic group of integrative practitioners, managing a large staff and working full time, I "rewired" (not retired) to provide consultations to patients in Functional and Integrative Medicine, and only part time.
My Philosophy of CareI grew up with a family physician who my family really respected, and I wanted to help people like he did.
What You Can Expect On Your First VisitThey usually say they felt safe and comfortable, and felt they were finally listened to.
My InspirationNo one can "empty their mind" - we all constantly have thoughts. The idea of meditation is to be aware of these thoughts and let them pass/not get involved with them for the time you are meditating
