Hello there! I am Kat. I was born to this planet to help people in a profound way. Mentoring and healing practices are my methods.
I have been an over-achiever since I was seven years old. My mother told me I was different because I was a leader. I didn't want to be a leader because it required work. Mental, emotional, and physical work. But! I always wanted to help people.
So, even though I fought it I found myself in leadership roles throughout my life. I have managed people in various forms from non-profit organizations to middle and upper management in large corporations.
I am a mother of three beautiful adults who are strong, serving, and loving. And, I boast to say I am a proud grandmother (they call me Mimi) of five grandchildren, most of whom are adults, too (yes, count the years. I was a young mom).
As a young mother at nineteen, I faced many challenges: an abusive husband, military life, raising a chronically ill child
As a divorced, single mom, I faced even more challenges with three children living under the poverty level without child support.
Into my adult years, I contracted fibromyalgia. And, I am challenged with something new every day. I was laid off from what I call "my last big fat corporate job." I left with my eyes wide open to opportunity. I am now free to express as ME!
I am grateful for these life experiences and have not allowed these challenges to define me but to provide me with a rich background from which I can draw wisdom and intuitiveness to support other women who want more in life than to allow these life experiences to define them.
I specialize in NeuroLinguistic Programming, Emotional Wisdom Training, Aromatherapy consultation, and Reiki healing.
I am the master at starting over and being resilient!
My heart has always been with women who struggle to get past the "I'm not good enough mentality." Why? Because that was me half my life. I know what it's like to start life with people telling you that over and over or thinking "I'll never measure up." It led me down some dark paths, some of which I am not proud of. My dreams were suppressed, I was in an uncharted place in my heart. I got help just in time.
What inspired me to become a mentor was this: One day, I was driving through a very prominent area of St. Louis. I noticed a women walking through a crosswalk in front of me. She was well-dressed and had three small children, one of which was in a baby stroller. She was struggling to keep the other two close to her for safety as she crossed. I asked her if she was okay. She began to cry. She said her husband left her and she had no home and no money. She was literally roaming the streets hoping for some golden opportunity to drop from the sky. It was not looking promising for her and her children. That vision still stays with me, today.
I question myself for that young woman: What got her to that point? What mindset did she have to lead her to that place where she had no other choice? My mentorship for this mindset is what makes that difference.
We all run mental programs that associate our feelings with beliefs. From the time we are born our mind begins to form our outlook on the world. If we mentally lock it away, we believe it. We believe that we can't hit the ball out of the park or score that new experience in a kayak. But! It IS possible to use those beliefs to morph into a new belief pattern to excel at what we once thought we could not.
There is science to support that our mental well-being affects our overall health. I work with NeuroLinguistic and Emotional Wisdom Training methods to assist clients in recognizing and applying its principles.
So, I am here to help women cultivate a new and fresh way of thinking, supporting "saging" women who want to reclaim their youthful years, live with free expression, and want to feel good again.
My clients can describe their first teleconference visit as 45 minutes of exploration about what they want to do, how they want to feel, and they actually are able to create an intention in the first call. The calls are recorded so they can listen back over the conversation to gather more information toward getting clearer for the next conversation.
Taproots for Life is the BMW (Be Much Wiser) of coaching. I have trained with other coaching formats and have discovered that NLP and Emotional Wisdom Training are what get to the core of the cause for our ways of thinking which translates to relationships, how we conduct ourselves in social, family, and work environments. It also impacts how we react or respond to crisis, trauma, and our health outwardly reflects these emotions.
We all want to be that person who -metaphorically- sits on the mountainside as the tornadic winds tear at everything around us while we are completely in zen position. We can actually get to that place. Ask me about teaching coaches through a pandemic!
I am also a trained certified aromatherapist and can assist you in finding the right essential oil that can help you relax or be energized.
I would be honored to be your mentor to assist you in arriving at that place you want to be in life to live healthy, happy, and fulfilled.
