As a working Mom of school age twin boys, coming from a generation that was not taught the importance of self-care, I had forgotten how to relax... to truly relax and be present in the moment. That is when I found Katie and yin-style yoga. Katie guides the class through a series of easy yoga moves and stretches and lulls me into a relaxed state that quiets my mind. At first, I only realized the benefits on the mat and the calm state would quickly disintegrate when I returned home to my loud and energetic twins. Now, after two years practicing with Katie, I notice the benefits both on and off the mat. In stressful situations, I am able to focus on my breath, calm my own mind, and respond to my children in a manner that calms (rather than escalates) the situation. This has proven to be very useful during the pandemic, particularly with on-line learning. I am very grateful for Katie and her mastery of meditative and yin-style yoga practices. I continue to learn from her every week.

With Katie's knowledge, guidance, homework assignments and natural healing ability, I have gain far more than I ever thought attainable. Could not recommend enough.

Comprehensive assessments of your physical makeup, breathing patterns and current imbalances, mental/emotional evaluation and first yoga therapy practices offered to begin returning your system to balance. This session is included in all Treatment Plan Packages.

I do yoga for different reasons, and Katie speaks to each of them. Her classes help me strengthen, balance, breathe, stretch, revitalize joints. I walk out feeling tall with healthful posture (per my PT), the tension dispelled from usual places. In yoga therapy, Katie pinpointed (uncannily) where I was blocked psycho-spiritually and developed a treatment plan with strategies, some ancient, to work through tough life issues I’m facing right now. After incorporating these practices into my life for the past few months, I find myself to be more centered and unfazed by drama or challenges at work as well as in my deeper relationships. And for the first time in decades, I feel good in my skin – actually IN my body to its very edges -- not so much a floating, ruminating head. Ultimately for me, Katie’s yoga therapy has moved me along a path devoted to self-knowledge and the freedom it offers, allowing me to see the world as it truly is. Wonder-full.
Before working with Katie, my back pain was controlling my life and preventing me from doing the things that I enjoy. After working with Katie, I was able to better manage pain retroactively while also utilizing strategies and exercises to prevent any future injuries well. I have been practicing yoga for around 10 years and Katie is one of the best teachers I have had the fortune to meet. She has a genuine passion for yoga and it shows as an instructor. I have had many nights where I come to class stressed out and always leave calmer. She has a very relaxing voice but it’s more than the tone, it’s her pleasant nature that shines through. Maybe another aspect that sets her apart, it feels as if she has a desire to enjoy the class as much as she wants you to. You really get the feeling she cares deeply about her practice and how she teaches. Ohhhh and her music selection is incredible! I have a full playlist from songs I have heard from her class. I highly recommend her!
I have had the privilege of learning yoga from Katie for the past two years and she is simply the best! For someone who knew nothing about what to expect from practicing yoga, Katie has always created an environment for self discovery and reflection in her classes and the hour simply flies by every time. She combines a calming voice with an outstanding selection of yoga poses that leaves me feeling more balanced, flexible and relaxed when the music stops. For anyone needing to simply leave the day-to-day stress behind for a moment while increasing flexibility, I highly recommend allowing Katie to guide you through a session for we always leave in a better place -- physically and emotionally -- than when class started!
