Acupuncture was new to me until my late 20'S. I was introduced to acupuncture from a colleague at work who had acupuncture. As a child, I have always been fascinated by the wealth of knowledge of our ancestors but I never had an opportunity to experience acupuncture until a back strain / sprain. After two sessions of acupuncture I was more convinced on the legality of it and the appreciation of how this modality have worked and helped people over several years.
2006 was the year that I embarked on my spiritual journey through Acupuncture and Chinese medicine. My primary acupuncture training started in NYCTCM located in Mineola, NY and I pursed my second graduate degree at Emperor's College in Santa Monica, CA. From the east coast to the west was an interesting and fulfilling adventure and now I'm back to the east at FL.
The list of my training is extensive and these are my favorites in my practice:
Master Tung's extraordinary points system (w/ Dr. Wei Chieh Young since 2008 introduced by Dr. Alice K. Yan, my acupuncturist / first acupuncture master after licensure.)
NAET (NAET Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Techniques): for allergies and beyond. (w/ Dr. Nambudripad)
YNSA (Yamamoto's New Scalp Acupuncture) - for pain management (points are mainly on the scalp)
Classical Chinese Medicine training & philosophy (w/ Dr. Jeffrey Yuen - Taoist Master) in my recent years.
Pranic Healing / Mediation (w/ Master Co).
Access Bars, an energy work for creating changes.
In my earlier years of practice, I wanted to treat as many people as possible and believed acupuncture is the best way to go as it helped me. As I practice and grew, I realized deeper healing need to be addressed from the source and it has to be from within. I believe in the cooperation and connection between the patient and the practitioner for healing to occur; and it will require both will (power) and effort on both ends. Acupuncture is an modality of healing, I will utilize what's needed.
Patient will receive a consultation and evaluation of his/her condition(s) or concern(s). Together we will discuss the history and investigate if needed the root cause of the issue. After a better understanding then we can explore the options to treat, eliminate, resolve, or change the current state.
*Patient advised to dress in loose clothing, have some food before treatment.
*Prepare to spend 1-2hours for consultation and treatment. (depending on complication and history or the condition)
I became an acupuncturist after having my first experience with acupuncture. My acupuncturist Dr. Alice K. Yan was my mentor and first acupuncture Master (apprenticeship in NYC after graduation from NYCTCM and licensure). I was intrigue by this ancient art that helped me recover lower back strain and sprain in just 4 sessions. After the first 2 treatments, I was already functional but went 2 more time because Alice wanted to secure the progress. I enrolled in acupuncture school soon after.
