Sanctuary for Compassion and Connection
Where Direct Neurofeedback, Psychotherapy and Yoga Intersect with Linda Crossley
Hi, I’m Linda Crossley and I feel blessed and honored to help others move away from a life of fear, isolation, guilt, shame, and dis-ease, toward a life full of love, connection, compassion, meaning, and health. I work from a holistic, systems, and relational therapeutic arts perspective, integrating Eastern and Western philosophies and tools such as direct neurofeedback, psychotherapy, trauma-informed yoga and meditation, to facilitate healing, transformation, and wellbeing.
Beyond my integrated approach to healing, I believe what makes me unique as a holistic health provider is my level of presence, compassion, acceptance, and gratitude when working with my students and clients. I find myself captivated by the experiences of my clients, which continuously energizes my desire to relieve their suffering and help guide them toward their goals, while feeling honored and blessed to be able to create safe, sacred space for them to voice their greatest fears and explore their shadow side in order to work through those obstacles and integrate and accept all aspects of themselves. I am regularly reminded of the strength and resiliency of the human spirit when I deeply listen to my clients’ responses to life challenges, which is the source of all hope.
I built my business around my personal belief in our innate human ability to heal from past traumas, and in post-traumatic growth, without the need for prescription drugs, as I have done it myself!
I truly believe that there is nothing wrong with us and instead know that it is what happened to us that creates a sense of disconnection. All of our troubling behaviors and thoughts are simply symptoms of trauma. It is from this deep understanding that I was initially inspired to become a wellness professional and continues to provide me with daily inspiration to show up and be fully present as I support others on their healing journeys.
The words I most often hear my students and clients use to describe their first class or visit include calming, relaxing, soothing, and grounding.
Every cell, organ, and system in the body has an optimum, healthy frequency or harmonious rate of vibration, also known as resonance. Illness occurs when some part or parts are not vibrating harmoniously with itself or other parts as a whole, known as dissonance. Crystal bowls resonate akin to universal love, spirit, and source. The vibrational sounds produced as the bowls are played facilitate healing by working to resolve any dissonance in the body and creating harmonious resonance. In other words, the healing benefits of a crystal bowl sound bath occur by modulating the body’s vibrations, moving dissonance towards resonance, bringing any vibrating object to vibrate in harmony with the vibrational sounds of the bowls or to match the rate of vibration of the bowls.
Some of the outward signs the body will reflect to show movement away from dissonance and toward resonance include (but are not limited to) increased heart rate variability, reduced muscle tension and anxiety, and improved sleep.
