About 10 years ago my doctor suggested I take yoga classes as a way to become healthier, mentally and physically. I looked online and called the closest yoga contact, and that happened to be Linda Karl. She was teaching classes at the nearby community college. I enrolled in one class and have been practicing yoga with Linda ever since! She is now teaching classes privately in her home studio. Whenever I enter that space I immediately feel relaxed and know I will have an incredible practice. Linda can sense what her students need even before they tell her. I always get the practice I need, even when I didn’t know it at the start! For Linda, yoga isn’t just poses, it involves working with the breath. The breath as a way to concentrate, to regulate anxiety, reduce stress and remind you to be patient as you wait in rush hour traffic when you really need to be somewhere quickly! She prepares for classes to target certain areas, for example; balance, digestion, etc. However, she will modify the class if the student’s needs change. She always offers modifications of poses to meet everyone’s abilities. For years I was told, “If you stretch enough you’ll be able to do this or that.” Linda was the first one to let me know that it is how you’re put together that determines what you can or cannot do. Linda has so many hours of training from the best yogis in the world, which translated into more knowledge than you can imagine. What makes her the best, though, is her empathy for her students and her wish for them to take yoga off the mat and into the real world with them. Especially these last few months, that has been the case and it’s been necessary to do it on my own. She has taught me well but Linda has even gone online for her classes so she is never too far away!
I can't recommend Linda enough. Linda is a wonderful mentor. She's knowledgeable, she's humble, she's real. Plus, she's authentic and tells it like it is. Linda has a contagious passion for yoga. I sought out her mentorship am she greatly transformed who I was as a teacher/student. I'm so grateful for her guidance and encouragement. She's the real deal!
Linda has been a Yin yoga student of mine for many years and has completed my Yin certification course. She is a fabulous practitioner; and she has excellent flow in movement and understanding of the principles and art of Yin yoga. I think she is a wonderful teacher! I highly recommend her. About me

I’ve been called an innovator and a facilitator of deep holistic healing. I teach a breath-based, mindful practice, taking students beyond asana into the deeper dimensions of traditional Yoga that is YOGA FOR LIFE, a vehicle for personal transformation.
As a trauma survivor, I am passionate about working with individuals healing from trauma to provide them a safe, non-judgmental avenue to heal themselves . Sliding scale payment is available for trauma survivors.  

My Philosophy of Care

My philosophy of care is to see people as they are and how they are, and whatever happens, happens.
I believe in the therapeutic benefits of Yoga+breathwork+meditation properly applied to the individual.

My Inspiration

I had shoulder surgery in the mid-1990s and I remembered how Yoga benefited my body, mind, and spirit when I was first introduced to it in the 1970s. Returning to a gentle yoga practice helped my shoulder tremendously that physical therapy did not.

Linda Karl is an excellent Yoga teacher and kind being. She is one of the few teachers that did serious study in India in the great lineage of Professor T Krishnamacharya and his son TK/v Desikachar. Highly recommended!
Linda was my first introduction to yoga years ago. She is still my favorite! The “real deal” when it comes to knowledge, experience, guidance, and adaptability. She has so much experience and training, and still studies in India whenever she can. A true gem!

I have been taking yoga classes from Linda Karl for the past 18 years. She teaches yoga the way it was meant to be experienced - as a life-affirming discipline that focuses on body, mind and spirit. Through the years, Linda's classes have helped me deal with health issues, emotional stress and the physical changes that come with aging. The pandemic is yet another challenge. Thankfully, Linda has made sure her students' yoga practices won't have to suffer as a result. In recent months, she has been teaching yoga on Zoom. Her signature style of asana, breath work, meditation and inspirational readings fits the online format perfectly. Each class is tailored to meet the individual needs of her students. And t he warm, intimate atmosphere of these sessions make them feel like a gathering of supportive friends. As the pandemic continues, I can think of no better time for those who love yoga to give Linda's online classes a try.
Linda Karl has been my yoga instructor and mentor for 18 years. When the pandemic occurred, we found we could no longer have class in person, so Linda quickly presented us with the Zoom option. After a few classes, I found that it was so helpful to me that I asked her to provide a second class each week, which we did and have continued for months. I have suffered from anxiety for 20 years and feel that Zoom yoga classes with Linda have been a true lifeline for me. Anxiety is a very prevalent problem these days and I find I always feel better after class. Linda's classes are customized to the students' needs and after 18 years, she is still presenting new Asanas and giving us options according to our personal body structure. She is constantly educating herself by attending high level training. As her students, we greatly benefit from her training as she shares what she has learned. I highly recommend Linda's Zoom classes as an excellent social distancing option during these trying times.
