Years ago I was referred to Lisa when I was battling extra pounds and could not try another fad diet. Lisa's approach allowed me to live a normal life without always feeling deprived. She helped me break bad habits and adopt healthier ways to approach food. She is very knowledgeable and is constantly evolving with the times. I rely on her for not just nutrition but all health questions and guidance. 16 years later she is a staple in my life!
Lisa was recommended to me by a friend of mine who raved about her as having really helped her get her eating under control and lose weight. And that's what I needed to do too. I liked Lisa immediately upon meeting her. She is warm, personable and empathetic. She clearly really cares about her clients' wellbeing and is passionate about nutrition. When I went to Lisa I was stuck at a weight plateau. I was exercising regularly and could not get past a certain number on the scale. Lisa and I started working together and I was able to start to lose some weight. We focused not only on pounds, but on my whole body in terms of body fat, muscle mass, etc. And I have always eaten well and healthfully, but Lisa helped me start to track my foods and to make better choices for my goals. I would (and do!) recommend Lisa to anyone who needs help with any sort of issue related to how and what you eat. I consider her a friend as well as my nutritionist!
Where do I begin? I visited Lisa for the first time over 6 years ago and for some help starting on my wellness journey—eating better, getting fit and overall leading a healthier lifestyle. Always positive and understanding—and never judgmental—Lisa has helped me immensely over the years. She is so knowledgeable, patient and above all, passionate about her job/industry and passionate about helping her clients. Among other things, she has taught me how not to "beat myself up" when I fall short of a goal, how to transition into cleaner eating as a sustainable lifestyle, and how to not snowball into bad behavior when I'd "slip up." Part therapist, part nutritionist, part friend—Lisa's the best and I couldn't recommend her any more highly!

About me

Lisa Jubilee is a New York State Certified Dietician-Nutritionist, who has been counseling individuals on sustainable weight management and disease prevention for over 20 years. Her mission is to empower individuals to obtain healthy food relationships and to clearly understand the concept of food as medicine.

As a result of her personal 28 pound weight loss experience, and witnessing the yo-yo cycle of weight loss and regain while working at a popular weight loss clinic during graduate school at NYU, Ms Jubilee chose to create a functional nutrition practice where what, why and how we eat are all part of the conversations she has with her clients.
In 2005, Lisa co-created​ ​Living Proof Nutrition Strength Pilates​, a private nutrition, HIST (high intensity strength training) and Pilates studio, located in midtown Manhattan, where she offered nutritional counseling on weight control, autoimmune conditions, hormone health and the growing prevalence of food sensitivities and intolerances.

In response to the 2019 Coronavirus pandemic, Ms Jubilee has transformed her consulting practice to support the growing demand for telehealth services and now offers an array of nutrition consultations online.

Through the implementation of behavior modification techniques and addressing each client's specific eating and lifestyle tendencies, Lisa’s clients learn new habits and routines that contribute to a healthier body composition and immune system, increased vitality and a positive self image. Lisa tells her clients, “​The most important decisions you will make for your health are what you put on your fork, so choose well​.”

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Foods and Nutrition from Rutgers University and her Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University.

My Philosophy of Care

The concept of food as medicine and living a life that supports disease prevention has been in the fabric of my existence since childhood. I feel privileged to have been raised by my loving stepmother, who played an integral role in me becoming a nutritionist. By the time I was a teen, I had observed my Mom taking her own health issues (hypothyroidism and food allergies) into her own hands after she was told by a number of doctors and specialists, in one way or another, that all of her symptoms must be psychosomatic. These experiences drove her to research holistic approaches to her health issues and from observing her efforts, I became interested and intrigued at the concept of food as medicine and chose to study nutrition in college.
