Keys Core Fitness
I approach fitness coaching from a corrective perspective and with that comes ease of understanding how the body perceives movement and how it is applied. And it's always fun!

I feel I am a proponent of health and wellness. Over the past several years I have developed multiple skills and programs that have helped many achieve their goals, including myself and believe in eating organic, natural foods, exercise 3-5 days a week, while maintaining a healthy balance between my professional & personal life. I have a degree in General Education with a focus in Psychology and Business, am a Certified Hypnotherapist, Certified Holistic Life Coach, and continue to study and expand my knowledge in the fields of health and nutrition. I am a member of the American College Sports Medicine and IDEA Health & Fitness Association.
I am also the only Certified TRX® Suspension Trainer and Barefoot Training Specialist within all of the Florida Keys, and my predominant focus of fitness coaching is body-weight exercise as part of individualized and small group training. Workouts include the use of the TRX® Suspension & RIP Trainer along with a variety of other Functional Training modalities. Training focus is on weight loss, strengthening, balance, flexibility and agility, and can also incorporate exercises for pre or post-rehabilitation, training for injury prevention, as well as other various functional training fitness plan. I am known for creating personalized fitness plans for my clients that focus on their specific needs. In small group settings, modifications are easily set for each individual while maintaining an even flow for all.
My motto is "If you’re not having fun, then you’re doing it wrong” She believes one of the most important aspects to staying fit and healthy is having fun. She says,”working out shouldn’t come across as a tiring or boring chore you have to do, but something fun that makes you smile and feel good about yourself”.
My initial studies was Psychology and while in college I dealt with anxiety/panic attacks that led me to my next interest in studying Hypnotherapy as I always found the mind fascinating. And thankfully due to my extensive education in that I was able to reverse white matter on my brain that was leading some doctors down a path to diagnose me with MS. But with the help of a more open minded specialist in that field I was able to say no to that and life went on.
I've always enjoyed exercising but on a more casual basis. Then about a decade ago, I had a benign tumor that sat on my carotid artery and had every connective nerve cut into, some that had no name according to my surgeon. I was told that I may never gain full range of motion in my left arm but again, I chose to ignore that and after just a few physical therapy sessions I decided to do something more aggressive and thanks to a friend, now a colleague I became a student of Pilates. After 6 months of various exercises I regained my full range of motion with just a bit of stiffness remaining. Fast forward to seven years ago when TRX Suspension Training fell into my lap, yet another love for something different came my way. I jumped on the opportunity and obtained my certification in TRX. And then came my bizarre interest in feet which led to my addition to my fitness coaching. As a Barefoot Training Specialist, I do all my training with my clients barefoot. What I can see through the feet helps me train the rest of the body, as it is the only contact point between the body and the ground. The skin on the bottom of the foot plays a very important role, in the way in which the body stabilizes, reacts and anticipates all closed chain movements, i.e., a squat.
And probably the most inspired reason of why I do what I do, besides loving it, is I am inspired by my mom who only retired at age 80, two years ago. She's a bit more sedentary then I'd like but she keeps learning and moving. And I want to keep people doing the same!
Clients have described their first visit as surprised as to what they really are capable of and how easy it is, despite their initial thoughts of it being intimidating. They also note they love that I make it fun and that makes working out more enjoyable.
It's a great way to workout because you are using your own body weight as leverage in each movement and to change the resistance it's as easy as moving just a bit more forward and backward to add or decrease that resistance.
