Learn More About Stephanie Martin Taylor, M.S.

About me

For years, I considered my quiet nature and occasional bouts of extreme shyness as obstacles to an interesting and fulfilling life.

Over time, though, I learned to challenge that notion. To reignite my innate sense of adventure. To ignore the voices that said I was too quiet, too shy. To — in spite of my fears — seek out situations that would require me to grow, change, and rediscover long-buried talents and passions.

As a result, I spent nearly 20 years working as a broadcast news anchor and reporter – a dream that once seemed highly improbable to me, if not impossible. In my coaching practice, I help my clients work with their shyness, not against it, to summon their own sense of courage and possibility. To embrace their whole selves and nurture their quirks and eccentricities. To reignite their innate sense of wonder and adventure and use it as fuel for a rich and fulfilling life.

More about me: I own and operate Beautiful Baggage, a coaching service and podcast platform dedicated to "helping quiet people live loud lives" by cultivating an adventurous mindset. I live in San Francisco and also work in Communications for The Episcopal Church in the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to my certification from The Life Coach School, I hold an M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University and a B.A. in History and French from Colgate University.

My Philosophy of Care

I know first-hand how powerful coaching can be, and I've never regretted the many times I've invested in coaching programs.. How wonderful it would have been, though, to have worked with someone who specialized in shyness and introversion! I'm excited to now be that coach for other "quiet" people.
