What is CBD good for?

I have read a bunch of good stuff about CBD, but im skeptical. Ive even seen coffee shops with CBD infused beverages. I dont want to feel high or anything like that, but if it is popping up everywhere, I figured it could be worth a shot.

doTERRA’s mission from the beginning was to share therapeutic-grade essential oils with the world.

I just heard a lecture recently when the company tested a various amount of CBD in the marketplace and found that all of them contained some levels of THC in them (I don't currently have the literature and acknowledge that it may be splitting hairs). The level of THC may not be enough to affect the CB1 receptor (which creates the psychoactive responses), and CB2 receptors (which gives us pain relief).

A safe alternative to CBD is Copaiba (which comes from trees in the Amazon Rainforest)
Copaiba’s main chemical component is beta-caryophyllene, a chemical similar to cannabinoids found in cannabis that may protect nerve cells and have benefits for the cardiovascular and immune systems.* However, while caryophyllene is responsible for some of the bioactive properties of Copaiba, many of the other properties of the oil are thanks to the diterpenes uniquely found in Copaiba. Additionally, Copaiba has been administered orally to promote the health of cardiovascular, immune, digestive, respiratory, and nervous systems.

CBD oil does not have THC levels that would get you "high". It is an excellent combination with peppermint essential oil rubbed right on the forehead for headaches.

CBD can come from 2 sources; hemp plants and marijuana plants. That will determine your THC (the psychotropic properties) levels. Hemp plants THC levels are close to nothing (<0.3%) where as the marijuana plant contains 5-10% THC levels.
CBD helps reduce inflammation aids in sleep and calming the nervous system as well as decrease pain.
