What are some common foods that people cut out when they first start an elimination diet?

I want to try an elimination diet, but I don't know what to eliminate!

Nutrition (GF, DF, SF) & Hydration - Sleep - Movement - Relationships - Relaxation. I'll empower you to improve your: Self-confidence - Self-efficacy - Resiliency - Routines.

If you are following the Institute for Functional Medicine's (IFM) Elimination Diet protocol you will want to eliminate all of the following for a minimum of 21 days,
- Dairy, Eggs, Gluten, Peanuts, Pork, Beef, Corn, Shellfish, Soy, Processed Sugars, Alcohol, Coffee, and Chocolate.

After 21-days you begin the reintroduction phase. Slowly reintroducing the foods back into your diet, one at a time, while tracking any symptoms. This enhances your awareness to foods that have an inflammatory effect on your unique body :)

I often recommend starting with the top known"trouble" foods: gluten, dairy, soy, corn, eggs, and sugar. Clients often notice very quickly that one of these foods could be the culprit. (And a quick note: very often, eggs are not the culprit; rather, it's the diet the chickens are fed that can be the problem. Conventionally raised chickens eat a ton of corn and soy, which can show up in the eggs.) Try re-introducing pastured eggs if they're in your budget, and you may find it was never the eggs to begin with.
