Midway upon the journey of our life

I found myself in a dark forrest,

For the straightforward pathway had been lost….

-Dante

Are you feeling lost in your life?

Perhaps, someone you loved passed away, you didn’t get that promotion you were counting on, or your long-term relationship just ended.

Your life veered off from the straightforward path and went in a different direction, and as a result…..you’re feeling shocked, discouraged, or even hopeless.

Maybe you try to numb yourself from feeling aimless or out-of-control, yet the gnawing pressure or shame that you feel never really goes away. This broken feeling lives just beneath the surface, always scratching away at you for its next release.

You may not even see a path out of this darkness, but thankfully, I can assure you there’s ABSOLUTELY a way out! In fact, there are many ways (again, even though it may be difficult for you to see).

The first thing you must do to heal, is to accept that feeling lost or alone is just a feeling; don’t allow yourself to fall into the trap of thinking that this feeling will last forever. Although it may feel this way right now (or even a month from now), it doesn’t mean that you are doomed to drift or be alone for your entire life!

Feelings are impermanent and they don’t define who you are. So, with this in mind, try to accept the fact that you are just feeling lonely and then focus on pushing forward with your life.

The one thing you shouldn’t do when you’re feeling lost though…..is to force yourself to pretend that everything is perfect. You cannot recover your own light without first confronting the darkness from within.

It can also help to have an objective, as well as a trusted person to talk to who can also help you to make sense of some of these emotions that you’re feeling.

Remember: everyone needs help…..and perhaps through your courage to ask for help, you will help someone else to have enough courage to ask for help, too!

So if you're looking for someone to talk this through with, just send me a message and we can go from there.
