Life took a dramatic turn when my first marriage ended, and I simultaneously ventured into the world of entrepreneurship, opening up my private physical therapy practice in Colorado. It was a steep learning curve, as I transitioned from a conventional job with a safety net to complete self-reliance, as well as learning how to live alone for the first time in my life. I found myself overwhelmed, lonely, and struggling to cope with the weight of my responsibilities and my pain. The impact was profound, not only affecting my personal life but also seeping into my professional world as a therapist, where I could no longer give my patients the quality of attention they deserved.
After a series of tearful rides home from work, I made a pivotal decision to seek help. My body was reacting from the stress, with unexplained back pain, difficulty sleeping, panic, and migraines. Traditional methods of pain relief such as stretching, exercise, and OTC medications could not touch my pain, so I turned to alternative bodywork methods like massage and chiropractic care. However, the symptoms persisted, driven by my high levels of stress, and I longed for a more profound release.
That's when I discovered hypnotherapy, an unconventional approach that promised to not only ground me, but also facilitate the release of pent-up stress and emotions.
Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation techniques to induce a state of focused attention, increased suggestibility, and deep relaxation called hypnosis or trance. While under hypnosis, positive suggestions and guided imagery are used to help individuals address a variety of health concerns and issues. For me, it worked because it addressed the subconscious mind, tapping into the root cause of my stress and anxiety, and helping me to reframe my thinking - ultimately leading to emotional release and relief from physical symptoms.
Hypnotherapy became my refuge, enabling me to express my emotions and gain the tools needed to navigate through this tumultuous time. This new found therapy was the holistic remedy that proved successful in ways I could have never imagined. It not only alleviated my physical symptoms quickly, but also helped unravel years of trauma and limiting beliefs, addressing my emotional and psychological conditions. Hypnotherapy enabled me to experience true happiness for the first time in my life.
A year of intensive hypnotherapy sessions not only brought me healing but also sparked a newfound purpose. Because this approach was so successful in relieving my physical symptoms and in helping me improve the quality of my relationships and my life as a whole, I was inspired to extend this holistic approach to others, empowering them to find solace in their own minds and bodies. With dedication and training, I integrated hypnosis into my practice. Soon after, my appointment book was overflowing with individuals seeking a holistic approach to healing. Today, I stand at the helm of a thriving practice, offering a unique blend of physical therapy and hypnotherapy. It's a rewarding career, one born out of my own journey from overwhelm to empowerment. I've learned that healing goes beyond the physical, delving into the depths of the mind and spirit. And now, I'm privileged to guide others on their own paths to wellness, helping them harness the power of holistic healing to find balance and transformation in their lives.
