How should I go about training for a marathon?

I have been running recreationally for a few months now. I run ~2 miles each day. But I am thinking about training for something more serious. Where do I start?

I think that sticking to a training schedule is so important! I used the book Running Your First Marathon by Andrew Kastor and found it to be very helpful. Not only did it have a detailed 20 week training plan, it also provided tips on nutrition, mindset and recovery.
