Is it possible to get TOO MUCH sleep ???

I was sleeping about 4 - 6 hours a night, but now I am sleeping 8-9 hours a night and I dont really feel anymore energized. In fact, I feel groggy. So, am I sleeping too much ???

Well being is experiential, not abstract. Awareness Through Movement allows you to outsmart pain and experience the pleasure of your body being all connected.

No, you are not sleeping too much. People sleep all different amounts, and it can be anywhere between 4 - 10 hours a day, and it doesn't have to be all at the same time.

If you are not feeling energized, that may be due to something else. Look elsewhere.

Definitely 2 hours or so before bed is a good protocol to follow -- when you sleep on a full stomach while your digestion is still active you are "distracting" your system from the jobs it needs to accomplish while you rest... namely brain function and melatonin production. A lot of neurological functions, repairs and restoration of body systems happen at night and over an extended period you will start seeing signs and symptoms of distress and disease if you continue to abuse the body.

Hi Christa, 8-9 hours is not too much sleep. In fact the recommended time frame for a healthy sleep pattern is 7-9 hours. That said it is possible that your body is fighting with adrenal fatigue and due to poor nutrition and or possible impaired digestion your body is working on "digestion" instead of "resting and restoring" during sleep. Have you analyzed what led to the increased sleep hours and what you are doing differently these days that your body could be responding to? Food changes? stress?, more Tech time before bed? environmental allergies? There could be many factors affecting the quality of your sleep. Let me know if I can help investigate.
