I'm all about self-care! As a trained dancer and massage therapist, I am doing massage therapy for myself all the time, which prevents injuries, speeds recovery, and keeps me in touch with my health. I advocate as many self-care habits as possible, for a rich life, full of vitality! and wrote a book about it - FEEL LIKE YOURSELF AGAIN - how to heal and recover from injury, surgery & illness - self -renewal methods to increase circulation. #SelfCareisFirst
Traditional Chinese Medicine views lack of thirst as a symptom that may indicate an underlying pathology of dampness or cold. One way to treat this is to take a short round of medicinal herbs in tea form. These herbs will help you to take in more liquids while treating the underlying cause of the imbalance that is causing a lack of thirst.
While you may be experiences a diminished thirst because of underlying symptoms like this, it may also be due to the quality of your water. You may want to try switching the water that you drink to spring water.
Try drinking your water room temperature. Sometimes adding electrolytes or lemon juice can encourage you to drink more water. I also recommend trying to drink out of a straw, as you may find that you drink more water than expected.
All the best on your healing journey!
Inflammation is a huge part of the cause. In my personal case, my back pain caused by scoliosis was non-existent when I followed a personalized anti-inflammatory meal plan based on MRT testing. This protocol often relieves a lot of pain types. It also improves energy, digestion, mental clarity etc for many. I can only share from personal experience, but when I went on an elimination diet it reduced my symptoms (mainly all over joint & muscular pain as well as mood swings). But it depends what kind of diet you are starting with. I cut out sodas and most fast food over a decade ago and have been eating mainly whole foods for the past 5 years so it wasn't a drastic switch when I started the AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) diet. If you have the time, starting to slowly eliminate can ease you into it. Also, on an elimination diet you should be able to eat as much nutrient-dense food as you need to feel satiated. Lots of veggies! I always prepare 2-3 veggie dishes with dinner and have a large portions for most meals. Though that's me. Sweet potatoes have helped me a lot and there are tons of delicious recipes online.
Speaking from personal experience as I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis autoimmune condition.
If you are following the Institute for Functional Medicine's (IFM) Elimination Diet protocol you will want to eliminate all of the following for a minimum of 21 days,
- Dairy, Eggs, Gluten, Peanuts, Pork, Beef, Corn, Shellfish, Soy, Processed Sugars, Alcohol, Coffee, and Chocolate.
After 21-days you begin the reintroduction phase. Slowly reintroducing the foods back into your diet, one at a time, while tracking any symptoms. This enhances your awareness to foods that have an inflammatory effect on your unique body :)
I use the HeartMath heart focused breathing technique. I like it because you can do it with your eyes open, while you are among people and they won't even know you are doing it. It's more than just a breathing technique, it is also is a coherence-building technique. By focusing my attention in the area of my heart, I am able to adjust my heart-rhythm to become more coherent, and thus switch into a calm state.
Best times are around the New Year and February.
In addition to investigating the trauma there are homeopathic remedies quite helpful for such injuries. Many are available OTC, but it is best to have a certified homeopath review your specific symptoms and recommend potency and dosing. I also highly recommend having certain homeopathic remedies on hand such as Arnica for injury and trauma. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are wonderful homeopathic remedies for concussion that can be used in conjunction with emergency medical care to speed recovery.
There are breath tests or stool tests that can be ordered by most doctors. If you have bloating after most meals, that is a likely sign. The two types of treatments are pharmaceuticals which wipe it out (the good and the bad bacteria) or herbs and botanicals combined with diet to have a more gentle effect on the gut bacteria.
Esogetic Colorpuncture is another option. I worked with depression and bipolar disorder, treat an Autistic Teen. There are options.
Yes and No.
Unhealthy, self-destructive patterns are passed down to each generation until someone is willing to break the cycle. Most of our parents were hurt by their parents and so forth. Unless our parents have done their healing work before they had kids, they most likely passed down trauma in their DNA and painful patterns of abuse or neglect.
Science has shown that trauma is carried down family lines in DNA. We can also inherit specific emotions at conception from our parents. I am an Emotion Code and Body Code practitioner, and sometimes I clear emotional energy from clients that came from a parent. Sometimes these inherited emotions did not even originate with my client's parent; it came from many generations back!
I believe depression is the result of too much emotional stress in our body. We can only deal with so much. We are not meant to constantly live in fight or flight, but this is what happens when we have a lot of unresolved trauma and emotions stuck in our body.
I help clients to heal from childhood trauma and pain, so they can be free of the filter of past pain and sadness. I help clients by connecting with their inner child and by clearing trapped emotional energy by working with the wisdom of their subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is like a super computer that stores every experience we have ever had and knows why we are suffering as well as what we need to do to heal.
I think an elimination diet could help but it may not be the first step. You could focus on first reducing, then cutting out food groups that generally tend to have a strong influence on the pleasure centers of your brain such as sugar, gluten, and dairy.
It's important at the same time to add in foods that support your body's processes at a cellular level such as dark leafy greens, berries, and healthy fats like nuts and seeds or wild-caught salmon so that you're left feeling satisfied.
If I were you, I would start with refined sugar, then gluten, then dairy.
Hope this helps!
Yes, but grounding yourself through diet would be better. Focus on warming foods and make sure you are getting enough minerals - deficiency being a contributing physical factor to anxiety. It's not healthy to have any and yoga will only keep it at bay without the right complementary dietary habits involved elsewhere.

I heard yes, Esogetic Colorpuncture has targeted therapy to calm the Amygdala and process trauma memory.
Absolutely because I've gotten rid of my own. I've been medically and energetically tested for the reversal, too. I focused on gut work involving the removal of dysbiotic activity and any significant physical imbalances. Energy work from a professional involved with "dowsing" helped me rid of it, entirely. Took consistency but I did it with a little work and help.
It all depends what is causing your allergies. I have noticed that when I correct the cervical curvature of the spine, this improves the nerve function/immune system, which increases the chance of having allergies. I have seen it a lot with my patients personally, especially when utilizing the most research and evidence based chiropractic technique called Chiropractic biophysics.
I find it helpful to have some "anchors" worked into my routine. For example, I have a morning ritual and an evening ritual that ensure I'm starting and ending the day with mindfulness. In between, I've scheduled several alarms to pop on my phone to remind me to check in with myself and where my head is.
A simple practice to motivate yourself to get out of bed in the morning is to count down from 5 to 1 and then say get up. So 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...get up!
I think it can help a ton! I'm a Type 1 diabetic who is a naturopath as well and I think that my approach is to help use food and exercise to stabilize sugars (even if you are already on medication) and supplements to help prevent some of the damage that higher blood sugar can do to the tissues.
IBS in and of itself has not been shown to be genetic. Food allergies and intolerances may be hereditary, to a certain extent. However, there are remedies and lifestyle changes available to all three of those issues, and they may indeed be overcome. The body is amazing at healing itself, once given the right things.
