Hello there! I am Kat. I was born to this planet to help people in a profound way. Mentoring and healing practices are my methods.

Great question, Don! I have practiced meditation most of my life. The only drawback to meditation is how it is used. If one is using it to calm the mind, to regain focus, or for spiritual connection, this is healthy.

If meditation is being used as a form of retreating from the daily stresses of life or hiding from emotions, then we must examine if this is withdrawing from social norms or addiction, which are attachments to the process and not the outcome.

Healthy meditation is balancing, quieting, and meant to relax the mind to better cope with our emotions that arise from our worldly experiences.

Hi Susan, When you say "your practice" I'm not sure what you are referring to. Is this your own personal meditation practice? or are you a practicing clinician? Would love to help answer this for you but need a bit more info. I agree with Terry Lynn Talbot's answer, it's often coming back again and again to the experience you are having through your senses that is most helpful. When you are feeling stressed, anxious or depressed it's because of where you are spending time in your thoughts and not in the present moment. I would be happy to chat with you if you like. We can see if I would be a good fit to help you. This is exactly what I help my clients do!! Please let me know.

Doing daily massage along the fingers, joints and palms of your hands and wrists with a Gua Sha tool, a spoon or bottle lid will create good micro-circulation in the tissue, muscles and joints of the hand. Specifically, applying pressure in the fleshy pad between the thumb and pointer finger opens up the hand and arm. It is where an Master Acupuncture point is and is always used in a treatment. I hope this helps!

I do muscle testing and any practitioner can test to find the underlying issues. it maybe a trapped emotions. see book call the emotion code by dr Bradley Nelson

I have not heard the term Hijama, but after a quick search I believe it refers to "wet cupping," or cupping combined with blood letting. Most acupuncturists do not perform this type of cupping, but as Tina said there are no hard statistics. I have been trained in this technique but rarely perform it. Regular cupping without the bleeding portion is something many acupuncturists do and is much more common.

Tinnitus
Acupuncture

Acupuncture can absolutely help with tinnitus. As it stimulates the body's self-healing abilities as long as the tinnitus is within the grasp of the body's healing potential acupuncture can make a difference. The only time when acupuncture is unlikely to have much effect is when the tinnitus is steady and constant and doesn't seem to be effected by anything. If it never changes for any reason it is likely beyond the ability of the body to heal, and thus acupuncture won't be particularly helpful.

I can't agree with Dr. Rebecca Sanders enough on getting curious about the emotional component of your physical tension. My modality is EFT Tapping, so I'll be looking at your question through that lens. Tapping utilizes different endpoints (acupressure points) along the meridian lines of the body. When there is a block of some sort, the energy in our body can't flow freely (think of a garden hose with a kink in it). Energetic blocks can form for a variety of reasons, but they're likely caused by emotion(s) that our body hasn't processed, which can show up as a physical manifestation.

The great thing about Tapping is you can focus on the physical sensation directly and get relief. However, unless the emotional root is also treated, the results might not be permanent.

Hi Max, it depends on many specifics. However, as a general practical rule you can break a fast by having high quality whole foods that are easy on your digestive system. Other colleagues have given great nuanced answers so there isn't a need to go much deeper on the subject, however I´d like to highlight again that it all depends on the kind of fast and also the person doing it. A holistic detailed approach is always more useful.

Hope you find this one useful

This is a great question, and it has a multi-layered answer. Ultimately, yes, acupuncture can be very beneficial, however one of the first things to look at is the root cause of the nerve damage. Depending on whether it's due to an injury, a medication, an underlying metabolic imbalance such as diabetes, etc. will dictate the most effective treatment. If someone was suffering from neuropathy due to a nutrient deficiency, acupuncture would certainly help with some of the symptoms, but addressing the underlying cause of the deficiency would be a key aspect in getting it to fully resolve. Acupuncture can absolutely be an effective treatment, but more information on the case of the damage would be beneficial in order to achieve the best outcome.

It is a specific process of providing the right remedy, at the right level, at the right time, in the right sequence.

It is so important for you to find stillness within? Moments of quiet and peace will help you bring calm back to your parenting. Do you have support for taking a time out for your self even for 5 minutes a day? I teach a form of meditation called Heart-Focused Breathing. Breathing in and out through the heart will quiet the nervous system and bring your body and mind back into alignment. Heartmath Institute's research shows that your children will be able to feel your calm in real time because of electromagnetic waves that are emitted from the heart. Try it and let me know what you learned.

One way to detox from mold toxicity is to do so by having an energy practitioner actually release the mold pathogen and the toxins energetically from your energy body which in turn will clear from your physical body. This happened with my daughter who had just cleared her woodbox; she was suffering with a migraine headache when I used the Bodycode method to release the mold energy from her. The result was immediate and she began to feel better immediately.

Hi, Cody. Are you thinking about this instead of using an alarm clock? Or is this more of coffee replacement when you say "wake up naturally." Either way, if you can use a wake up light, and then get into the early morning sun, this could be a great way to support your wake/sleep cycle, but also get your energy going for the day. Your circadian rhythm also loves routine, so if you create a routine of getting the right amount of sleep, as well as going to bed around the same time and waking around the same time, this would help with fostering your desire to wake naturally.

Many of us are pressured to believe we'll have to cut out our favorite foods or starve ourselves to get the body we want. I support people to get the body they want by eating the food they love.

Macros can be super helpful for athletes looking to improve performance! You'll need to use a little trial and error to find the exact numbers appropriate for your goals, but here's where to start:

Calories: The best way to determine caloric intake for macros is to track your food for a week and see the average of your intake. From there, you can add a few hundred calories if you're looking to gain mass/weight, or subtract 150 or so if you're looking to lose fat.

Protein: Depending on your muscle mass building goals, take your current, or goal, body weight and multiply by 0.7-1.1. If you're looking to add a lot of mass, use closer to 1.1, if you're looking for a leaner gain, go closer to 0.7. That's how many grams of protein you'll aim to eat per day.

Fats/Carbs: If you're hitting your protein and staying at your calorie total, you likely don't have to worry about the exacts of your carb/fat intake because by default they are in line. That's how the math works out, calorically speaking.

Here's where the trial and error part comes in. After two weeks successfully hitting the numbers discovered above, check in with any weight, strength, and body composition changes and make sure they're heading in the direction you're aiming to go. Make any adjustments as needed to better reflect your goals, if needed.

With this all being said, if you or anyone else reading this would like help with your macros, I'd be happy to support you, simply book a free consultation call with me and we'll set them up!

Also, it's too bad that the other answers to this question totally wrote you off and just told you to listen to a biased documentary's approach. I'm not saying that the vegan lifestyle isn't right for some, but it's not an appropriate approach for all, and certainly not an appropriate blanket response to someone's nutrition-related question, which wasn't about being vegan anyway. And to that point, even if you're promoting a vegan lifestyle, you can still track and successfully use macros with that approach, which makes the disregard for the question asked even more frustrating!

Hello there. Chakra Balancing meditation is a subtle yet powerful way to realign the energies of your body, mind, heart and soul. This treatment re balances you and as part of a practice, provides ongoing inner guidance. It is also a powerful way to move through energetic blocks which help you recognize and restore your purpose while shifting you toward greater receptivity. This makes you more able to embrace qualities of renewed joy, meaning light, life, and vigor.

Chakras work by speaking to us archetypally through the use of colors and corresponding feeling states. These energy vortexes spin, while drawing us toward and away from emotions, colors, experiences and activities that we encounter. Through a process of toning sounds these chakras can be balanced and reset. I can help you understand where and how chakra energy is activated in your system as well as where it may be blocked from deeper more meaningful expressions. A chakra balancing session will help you understand how your subtle energy expresses itself. I do this by intuiting which colors and feeling states you are drawn too and which you move away from. This helps guide me in in understanding which chakras are your biggest allies and helpers. I also am happy to work with and help you connect with animal totems as a part of this work. As part of this session I may suggest ongoing activities as well as other practices that can help you tend and befriend the lesser used energies in your system. Specifically tailored meditations, mantras and messages may be offered as a part of your session as well. This work can be a stand alone session so you can get more of a sense of the work, or it can be a package. I can work through skype as well for your convenience. Let me know if you have other questions.

In Chinese Medicine, the Individual is treated, not the disease, condition or symptom. That being said, there are some reliable points on the body that do not disappoint for treating a person with anxiety. Ear Points are extremely effective. And the relationship between organ partners is usually the guiding Point Selection Principle. For Example, if the Anxiety is due to a poor relationship between the Heart and Kidney, then the relationship between those to "Zang" organs is re-established in the Acupuncture Treatment.
