Hi Cliff, i'd love to hear your success rate with anything you've tried since this Q was posted. Muscular tightness, inflammation, extremely limited joint range of motion can shift VERY quickly when you approach the entire myofascial network as a system creating uniform tone across the body. With a specific spinal alignment within tissue strength, the body can repattern quickly which allows the nerves to feel less triggered & under duress. Once the fight or flight response dissipates, the chronic tightness can begin to ease around the skeleton allowing for more flow & lymphatic drainage to help carry out toxicity in the muscle tissues. I teach clients how to mold their own muscles/soft tissue to create more fluid like pumping through them as a way to help release this whole body tightening. The response is VERY fast & longlasting, it's a game changer, hands down. Let me know if you are curious to learn more. Good luck
To me there is a difference between treatment and healing. If your question is how to treat stress, and management falls under that term, there are many common methods to treat, cope or manage. Each individual may have different proclivities to cope, treat or manage.
Healing to prevent the underlying causes of stress are different and a bit more complicated requiring practice. My book The Imperative Habit, 7 Non-Spiritual Practices towards spiritual Behavior offers this road map
Hi Amanda,
Craniosacral therapy is great for babies. The birthing process can be stressful on a babies body. It can put pressure on the child's skull and even create an overlapping of skull bones. It can also cause strain on the neck and rest of their body. Craniosacral therapy can help realign the skeletal and craniosacral systems, strengthen the the immune system and start off a babies life on the right foot. I have worked with babies and seen the profound positive effect it has. Every child should get this done.
There are many reasons for a persistent cough that can include medications or supplements you are taking, foods you are eating and energetic blockages caused by trapped emotions and inherited miasma although it is probably a combination of several of those. I can’t speculate without knowing more so you are invited to contact me for a free consultation.
I'd be cautious as to what I ascribe inner symptoms to in the outer world. We tend to want to find something outside of ourselves that gives us an excuse to feel the way we do internally and then try to find something to either assuage or fix the issue. There are so many belief systems surrounding the 'ascension' that is makes one rather dizzy and disoriented just trying to keep up with them. Make is simple. The sensations that we're presented with are part of our own awakening and growth toward self-actualization and self-realization. The two are inextricable in the evolution of self/Self.
Self-actualization is about finding 'perfect' form, fit and function in the world. Self-realization is about finding that same form, fit and function within. Sure, there are practitioners who can assist in developing your poignant and profound questions opportunities. The answers are always found within, so they say, and it is true. The process of understanding and transforming oneself accordingly is still a pseudo-science at best, though there are references in quantum physics and spiritual practices that mirror each other. Some of the shifts can be pretty intense, like a wave of energy that completely wipes you out and even causes a collapse of the physical body for a short time. I've had that happen and gave me a new view on 'spooky action at a distance.'
Everyone is different, though, and each require certain aspects of consciousness to emote and evolve through the process. It seems the most appropriate 'place' to be in emotionally is fearlessness, though that doesn't mean to throw caution to the wind. It means operating in the faith, love and trust that emotes from the core of our center, the BEing. Practicing inner methodologies will often bring outer validation, like synchronicities galore, and as one experiences them as evidence to requests for connections, people or understanding... the trust grows. Ultimately, asking for help from within with sincerity will trigger the outer world to respond. Just be patient and persevere. :)
There can be multiple reasons for stomach pain during the night, ranging from stress, food sensitivities, late night eating, eating difficult to digest foods etc. Try meditating and/or journaling before bed, even just for 5 minutes to help clear your mind and relieve stress. Also be mindful of how late you are eating and what you are eating throughout the day. Tune in to how your body feels a half hour- 2 hours after you eat to see if something is triggering you. Some difficult to digest foods you can experiment with cutting out to see if it helps are animal products (including dairy) and gluten. I would need a lot more information about you and your lifestyle in order to really pinpoint what's going on but these are just a few general ideas for you to try :)
It is definately worth the time and money to schedule an initial visit with an acupuncturist.
Have you considered a pranayama and meditation practice? Kapalabhati Pranayama, translated as skull shining, is a beautiful practice

We often aquire heavy metels of many kinds through a variety of ways. Polution in the air, our water, chemicals in and around our homes and workplaces. It's hard to tell exactly where without extensive research but there are ways to combat it.
Relying on a more plant based diet can be one way to help rid our bodies of these nasty toxins. Adding spirulina and/or barley green powder to your diet can help rid the body of them as well.
Start your day with a warm cup of water with fresh lemon juice squeezed into it first thing. This helps our body rid itself of the toxins it has cleaned up for removal over the nighttime maintenance process.
I agree with the basic consensus here. I feel that depression CAN be exceedingly dangerous if it's not addressed accordingly, but I feel (personally) that how you choose to address it is paramount. Sometimes addressing it can be as simple as going for more walks and changing your diet. Obviously getting outside, moving your body, and engaging in conversation with others has proven to be extremely helpful to raise people's moods.
However, if it's stemming from a deeper-rooted issue, I feel that the mindset you adopt when deciding to move through those old emotions, feelings, etc., plays a pretty huge role in HOW you move through them. Feeling like you HAVE to move through them can, I think, end up causing a great deal of anger and resentment. However, if you make an actual DECISION to start that journey along with the intention to let go and allow yourself to heal, you'll have a much different experience.
Cold Laser could be very effective addressing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I have worked with clients who had debilitating issues and were told by their doctor that they needed a surgery; the pain and inflammation were gone just after couple of months, and with that, the need to wear a brace. I like to incorporate the laser sessions with the proper supplements and essential oils.

Susan's answer is incredibly thorough and accurate. The list of direct benefits of CranioSacral Therapy is extensive, and positive "side effects" can usually be related back to the release of restrictions in the tissues surrounding the central nervous system. I too have never heard of negative side effects from CranioSacral Therapy. I have had clients say they felt drowsy, or "not themselves" in the 24 hours after a session, but with a little rest that usually subsides and they experience a sense of release (either physically or emotionally).
Hi Amanda, Craniosacrsal therapy can be very helpful for anxiety. Craniosacral therapy can sedate the nervous system and create a sense of tranquility during the session. Of course, I have had many of my clients say that they leave more relaxed and calm then when they came in. Of course if there are emotional traumas in your life, this could compliment treatment from a psychologist.
Hi Lynn, I do not live in that area, but treat patients internationally from Oregon via Skype, WhatsApp or phone. No physical exam is required and homeopathic remedies are mailed after the consultation. I have 10 years experience treating people and animals. My website: www.thegentlehomeopath.com.

For iron deficiency (and all anemia), I utilize Desiccated Liver Pills.
When our ancestors ate meat, they ate the whole animal- including the organ meat. Liver contains the one of the highest concentrations of iron in the world of food. While many people still eat and enjoy liver, many people do not enjoy the taste or texture. I find the Desiccated Liver Pills to be the perfect balance. They provide a naturally occurring source of iron without needing to restructure the entire diet.
Traditional Chinese Medicinal Herbal therapy utilizes the power of herbs to boost the iron content of the blood in the short term- while also treating the underlying hemoglobin deficiency and the imbalances that caused it. Proper herbal consulting can assist in bringing more oxygen to your blood cells, resulting in more normal blood oxygen and iron levels.
With herbalism, you may experience reduced brain fog and reduced exhaustion as well as an easier time exercising, sleeping, and maintaining energy levels.
Best of luck to you!
My first point of attack is to add a quality probiotic to your diet.
Then eliminate sugar, and processed foods. Often times people need more than this and will need to investigate more deeply to find food allergies or sensitivities. This often will mean an elimination diet for a few weeks and then gradually adding food s back one to a time in order to discover the problem foods.
In this situation, a health coach can be invaluable to keep you on track and help in the discovery process to your wellness journey.
Contrast hydrotherapy! Get out two buckets and fill one with hot water and one with cold water. For a sprained ankle, the usual protocol is 3 minutes hot, 30 seconds cold, in three repetitions:
3 minutes hot, 30 seconds cold
3 minutes hot, 30 seconds cold
3 minutes hot, 30 seconds cold
Done!
The goal is to utilize the alternating temperatures to stimulate blood flow to the area and promote healing.
Don't burn yourself and don't do this if you have anything that might cause you to be more likely to burn yourself (e.g. diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia) or any condition that might be triggered by heat or cold.
The temperatures don't need to be extreme, just enough for them to feel significantly different.
Have you read "The Microbiome Diet" by Raphael Kellman? Check it out. I just started doing the reset myself a few days ago. Essentially the microbiome is bacteria that lives in our body that tells the hormones what to do. It controls many many many functions in our body! It turns the switch to diseases on or off. The reset starts off with starving the "bad bacteria" by removing all "trigger foods" (such as dairy, grains, legumes -except lentils and chickpeas, sugar, peanuts, gluten, soy, any artificial ingredients. This is to eliminate the "bad bacteria" while feeding the good bacteria what they need to be the dominant in the body to assist you in weight loss, dopamine, seratonin, rev up the metabolism, getting quality sleep, clarity of thought, etc. It is a fascinating book.
Depending on the cause of the headaches, craniosacral therapy can be a great way to help relieve them. I have worked on tons of people and seen the huge benefit it can make. If the cranial bones are restricted and/or cranial nerves are being impinged, craniosacral therapy can help remove those restrictions and allow for healthy mobility while softening the surrounding membranes. Plus it is so relaxing. I highly recommend it.
The best way to learn about acupuncture is to talk to a licensed acupuncturist! There are many books written about the art.
The book Voices of Chi by Alex Holland is a good introduction.
